It's always nice to see Bonus Game perfectly won.

I fell for the same trap in Grand Game, thinking the detergent was more expensive than it was.

Was Range Game for a truck necessary?
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Did anyone else think that when they called the last contestant down, it was really weird the way they did it: They showed George, like normal, but then instead of having the camera search the audience, it stuck with the camera showing Contestants' Row, and all of a sudden the contestant just popped out of nowhere from the left side of the screen. Yes, she probably was sitting over there to start with, but they still usually have the camera "search" through.

I think that was just an awkward part of the show.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Good lineup slotting working with those 6 games, at least.

That SC manipulating was really at a season high today...
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Great win on Bonus Game & a nice win on Safe Crackers too! :-)  Most Expensive & Grand Game were evil, IMO.  The showcase bids stunk too.

Not too good overall except for Bonus Game & Safe Crackers, IMHO.

$580 or $850 for a bicycle?  I'd hardly call that evil.  That's as close as a forced win as we're likely going to see a under this current administration.

Range Game: Went to the wrong extreme there.

Safe Crackers: Glad to get another win here. I could see some contestants being fooled by -50, so I wouldn't call this a forced win.

Grand Game: I have no idea how Carol managed to get the allergy relief, which I thought was going to be the one to trip her up... and how she missed the detergent, which I thought was the most obviously under of the six. Well, I guess she now knows she pays too much for detergent...  :P

Most Expen$ive: I knew the laptop was in the $2K range; I couldn't figure out whether the accessories were more or less than that. And how did they get a bunch of accessories to have a -999 ending?

Bonus Game: Cupcake setup. *dodges tomatoes*

Cov... eh, not gonna bother.

Loaded showcases were loaded. I knew the Ford Focus Titanium was going to be pricey based on when it last appeared (the Breast Cancer Awareness show), and added to a 4-person Disneyworld trip and it was going to be high; I thought it'd be over $40K, myself. As for SC1, I guess she didn't know that Greece + Boat = Pricey.

I enjoyed the reaction and pop Bonus Game received today. Did you notice? We also got a more of a classic reveal, and Drew noticed the game and explained it before the bonus prize was shown. Very nice; it's one of my favorite games.  :-)

I'm not a fan of playing Range Game for a car though. With a $150 range it's such a crap shoot.

It's hard to think about TPIR today after the death of Dick Clark, but we have a job to do.

Grand Game was hard.  I wasn't fooled by the detergent, but I was fooled by the Allegra.  Sometimes they use the small box, sometimes they use the normal box.  It was apparently the small box today.

I don't believe it.  There was no 1 in either the third or fourth digit of the correct price of the car in Cover Up today.  Of course, the lowest number available in the third column ended up correct.

My showcase bids:
:frbs: --$30,107
Car--$30,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

This wasn't a terrible show because Drew was particularly on for MOST of the show (I liked the way he did Grand and Bonus in particular) and there were some good contestants, but unfortunately, the results were the same. Grand in particular was way too hard today, and everything else was lost in predictable, standard ways. Was nice to see a bit of a different lineup, and a Bonus Game exacta (the touchup really does look nice in HD!) Who wants a Ford Focus Titanium though?

Timings:
Range Game (4) - 2:45
Safe Crackers (4.5) - 3:48
Grand Game (5) - 6:00
Most Expensive (3.5) - 3:21
Bonus Game (5) - 4:49
Cover Up (5) - 4:12
Total (27): 24:55

The 7,637th episode (145th for Season 40)

Grand Theft Auto
With a price of $29.99, it feels like that the Move Free is a SWAT truck, but the Liquid Gold is just a police car.

Showcase #1
  • DVF Beach Gear:  $405
  • Trip to Corfu:  $9,521
    • I remember reading Game Show Kingdom's blog post for February 2's LMAD telecast (taped November 12, 2011), which I have never watched.  I calculated a price that is close:  $9,747 ($12,247 deal value - $2,500 spending cash).  So sometimes I gotta turn to Wayne Brady for trip prices.

If Drew did this good of a job in his hosting more often, I wouldn't mind watching shows with brutal setups as much as I do.  That being said, I think burning is too good of a treatment for Cover-Up.  I'm thinking give each of the contestants who's been burned by it this season a sledgehammer and three free shots on Cover-Up.
