“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

I think that Pass the Buck should have been, not necessarily won, but got all three picks (at least the way I see it / played it). It seemed set up easier than it usually is - at least with the gum, because I have never seen that size of gum for over $1.

I was afraid the contestant playing Eazy Az 1-2-3 would leave the blocks where he had them before he changed them to the correct order at the last minute. I thought that it was fairly easy today.

And it was nice to see two $1,000 bonuses on the Big Wheel today - too bad there wasn't any extra bonus money shelled out.

It's too bad it's not Halloween today, because the two Showcase contestants: Mary and Shelley (don't know if I got the spellings right) (and, of course, Mary Shelley was the woman who wrote the book "Frankenstein").

And what was up with the Clamshell today during the first IUFB. Amber looked like she was working hard to get them pried open.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Sorry, but no. Any <1.00 being wrong in Buck is really a flagrant foul.

It should be considered lucky the show went pretty much right to dissipate the car games some. Still, the end of season crap seems to have begun early... just how much was won on Memorial Day, I wonder?
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Well, Plinko was certainly an amazing win, wasn't it? It was nice to see a favorable SP setup for a change and it really brought excitement to the second half of the show. The blog on priceisright.com is interesting - Kyong said she wasn't tall enough to see over the board, so she had to read Drew's lips to find out how much she won. Made for some delayed reactions, but I bet she was excited!

Other than that, this show was pretty average. Interesting lineup but typical results, and I'm getting tired of seeing Buck and L7 set up that way every single time. What was up with playing two one-prize games for trips, as well?

On a non-car SC day, those are exactly the showcases I want to see. Both had a theme that tied them together well enough, and neither of them was exorbitantly sexed up. More of this throughout the season please.

Timings:
Coming Or Going (3.5) - 3:05
Eazy as 123 (4) - 4:06
Pass The Buck (5.5) - 5:17
Balance Game (4) - 3:36
Lucky $even (4.5) - 3:36
Plinko (5.5) - 4:46
Total (27): 24:26

Can we please consider 21000 a huge partial win at least? I refuse to call the 5950s exactly the same as the 5930s with that Plinko.

At least the pricing games started and ended well. The middle was a mess, though.

Eazy was not an eazy setup; it's a good thing he didn't overprice the scooter.

I suppose from a game setup perspective, one shouldn't have <$1.00 GPs, but still, she shouldn't have missed the gum there. The second pair was evil, though, as was the placement of the car. And yes, the game is getting tiring when it's always being set up like this... where are the fairly reasonable setups from earlier in the season? (Oh, right, because those setups were won, and we can't have cars being won, can we, Mike?)

Pricing Tip: Trips to Mexico from LA are fairly cheap.

Lucky $even was the usual.

The show was brought up a lot by Plinko. We finally see a very fair setup of SPs, get a decent 4 chips out of it, and then we get a fairly rare $20K+ win! (And unaided by PCH, at that!)

Also nice to see some showcases that aren't ridiculously hard to price due to overload of expensive trips. Though however badly Mary wanted a Harley, she sure didn't know how much one costs, so I knew she'd Willy that one.

A rare day where the biggest winner was not a Showcase winner or a $25K Wheel Winner.

Contestants not appearing on stage will receive....

Well, I guess the commercial of the 2nd cc plug is the prize for not appearing on stage. I am thinking technology has changed with people getting encyclopedias, karaoke systems, etc. who do they get? Walmart of course! I hope the c.n.a.o.s plug isn't permantley retired.

We started the show with two easy setups and two wins... then here comes Pass the Buck with evil GPs.  I don't want to offend or disgust certain members of this forum by using a term that I used once before to describe a PG and/or setup that Mike and/or Adam throw into the lineup to ruin either a possible perfect show or an otherwise decent show... so does anybody here have a better term than "boner killer"?  Oops, I used it anyway. :-D

Lucky $even was winnable if you could get past the 8-1 combo.  After starting the price with $19,8xx, the fourth number had to be low (unless Mike was in an especially evil mood).

Finally!  A big non-gimmick Plinko winner!

Woohoo!  Double dollar!

My showcase bids:
Harley--$22,107
Paris--$19,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Coming Or Going, Eazy Az 123:  Nice wins! :-)
Pass The Buck:  Shelly should've had at least 2 picks.
Balance Game:  Rats! :-(
Lucky Seven:  Evil.
Plinko:  Great haul!
SCSD#2:  Wow, 2 $1.00s! :-)  Too bad nothing was won on the Bonus Spins & too bad Kyong lost.

Pretty good end to the week, IMHO.

Its second week back, Barker's Bargain Bar takes a week off.  Blah.

I'm getting sick of practically every GP/car game being set up so the contestant gets everything wrong.

(This was actually not that bad of a show -- I'm just kinda pissy because I got one measly point in the FPG. :P)

Well, if you look at Pass the Buck, there should be ZERO excuse for missing the first question (the bubble gum or the cortizone). There is NO way that bubble gym in that size sells for more than $1. She should have had at least two picks.

I can't believe some of you are saying the gum was easy. Look at NoT lately, no one thinks stuff is <1.00 anymore.
