Editing out genuine moments that tend to be more funny than the scripted ones. That makes a ton of sense. I'm sure you get that same reaction when you reshoot it because all of our contestants are actors. Bravo Mr. Richards (or Dimich or Adam or whoever makes that decision), you sir, are a genius.

Same goes with re-shooting the person coming on stage. It irks me now to know that we're getting forced contestant reactions, or none at all, just so the show looks absolutely perfect in places where it doesn't need to be. Bad call.

This was a pretty fun show. Great win in Grocery Game with a particularly evil theme (not that I blame Scott, Almonds are just naturally expensive).

The Thoughts of Mike Richards:
"I need something to spice up the show."
"Put a third car in Push Over and surprise everyone?"
"Nah, just get a loaded trip and play Grocery for a truck."
"That makes sense, doesn't it? Same thing, right?"
"Cool."

Come on Mike. I really don't get you. I really really don't.

Am I the only one who would have a problem not getting that Candlestick Telephone in SC1? They still make those, so that definitely should've been a prize.

Kingpin, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but was there a consolation prize plug shot between the closed-captioning plug and the second Showcase Showdown?

There was not such a plug shot.  In fact, I was wondering what the "contestants not appearing on stage" would get -- I seem to recall them making an announcement about it during a break sometime toward the end of the taping, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is that they all receive.  For some reason I want to say cash, but I'm probably thinking of the door prize that they award.  (Anyone else that's been to a recent taping know the answer to that?)
