I cannot believe that Double Prices has been absent for two consecutive weeks.

If we go by production order ... Double Prices has been absent for three consecutive weeks.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Well, nothing really crazy in the lineup and prizes this Mother's Day, aside from the Lexus. Just a bevy of special guests... Johannes was really out of place there. Nevertheless, thanks to some easier setups and some interesting gameplay, this still turned out to be a great Mother's Day show!

Bag was hard, but that game was lost as soon as they put the coffee in the $16 bag. I know there are cheap allergy medicines used on this show, but nothing else was going to be that expensive.

Coming or Going was a bit of a toss-up, which thankfully was called right.

Wow, what a day for 5 as the last number to actually be right in Lucky $even! In fact, with only the one -9 and all the other numbers right around the middle, calling all 5's would have actually won this setup! Patricia and Emilee sure made it exciting, and they were lucky they played this game today (and I'm glad Mike decided to be generous setup-wise today), because any other day they would have lost with that last call.

(Now let's just hope that the Ford Escape they get is scratch-free.  :P )

Secret "X" is one game I can accept being lost because it's been nothing but forced wins earlier in the season.

One Wrong Price was pretty easy, even if the junior Osbourne didn't quite know how it's won.

Money Game might arguably be the least exciting car game in the rotation, but it's always hilarious when someone stumbles into the back two numbers of the car first.

And both car winners get an extra grand to help with the taxes!

The Lexus showcase win was icing on the cake, no doubt helped by a FRATS being clearly overpriced.

Finally, congrats to Gwen on her upcoming new addition to her family!  :-)

I mentioned on one of the threads that they should have offered a "Very Brady Showcase" -- k'now, with the sports package (with football to accidentally throw in a pretty girl's face); the trips to Hawaii, Grand Canyon and Cincinatti's King Island; the classic 1970s Chevrolet station wagon and convertible ... and so forth.

OK, understood why those prizes weren't offered.

BUT WHERE ON EARTH WAS THE WESSON OIL???!!!???

(Or Florida orange juice, for that matter?)

You couldn't have a grocery game without those iconic items ... on a day when Florence Henderson is on the show!

Mike, this is the "Oooh, my nose!" moment.

Wow, sweet car game wins.

I actually called it, sitting there watching L7 - I'm like "this is a special show, and they want it to be won.  The last number's going to be 5, and they're going to get it right."  Suprised there wasn't at least an el cheapo option there on Money Game.

I would have bid $1 in their shoes on the Lexus showcase - even with some of the trips being for four, they were clearly over!

This show was way overloaded.  If you have to edit out a Lucky $even car wreck to fit in scripted things with a celebrity guest that are considerably less interesting, you're doing something wrong.  They're lucky It's in the Bag ended as quickly as it did -- Drew was booking through the Showcase as it was.

Even after searching for his name online, I still have no idea who Johannes is.

Lucky $even, even with the wreck edited out, was AWESOME.  Drew even hosted it well.

Money Game was pretty sweet, too.  It's always fun when somebody finds the last two numbers first.

For Dob's sake, where the heck is Barker's Bargain Bar?!

Rather than a spontaneous moment being left in (the Lucky $even car crash), we get scripted crap and no real reason for Florence to even be present at all. That said, I would not be surprised in the least if the crash was also scripted.

Barker's Bargain Bar is back, but it's now called the generic "Bargain Game".

Great show today. Another great couples special. It seems like they're finally getting things right now.

-It's in the Bag was a fail.
-Lucky $even was awesome. It is always an utter joy to see a nice Lucky $even setup, since they've been so rare since Roger left. It is an absolute shame they had to edit out what is possibly one of the best moments of this season.
-Secret X was a mixed bag of "eh." A huge difference like that and you think that plastic bar was $15. Really? I mean I'm sure it didn't help that the X was on the top, but I think that was setup for both X's to be won.
-Money Game was awesome. You can pretty much book a win if you find the last two numbers first. Well done

I love Florence Henderson. So she did no wrong in my eyes. Great celebrity guest.

On the other hand, her "Mr. Eye Candy" had to be the most pointless guest since Jack Wagner. At least Jack Wagner knew when to take a brake.

Gwen's son was absolutely adorable and I must say I liked him more than Connor.

What an overbid. Geez.

I also must echo what Steve said. I was sad to find out that Bargain Game's premiere week was two weeks ahead of schedule, but I sat and waited two weeks excited for its return to regular rotation. Now where the hell is it? I know they've played it again. So where is it?

Secret X: Seems a little mean to put the secret X on top, but that's just me.

It was clever to put the Secret X on top. Florence Henderson occupied that same spot in the squares on The Brady Bunch. Then I noticed a theme when I saw the nine square-set up again on the Money Game board. But that season number "40" was in Florence's spot. And it wouldn't budge from its spot, even for Mrs. Brady.  :D

Loved the show with Florence as the guest, but I was disappointed with the Showcases. I wanted Brady prizes and skits! Three vacations in the first Showcase--but not one of them to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, or King's Island Amusement Park? Then in the second Showcase, Florence should have played Carol Brady with Rachel, Amber, and Gwen as Marcia, Jan, and Cindy:

Marcia (Rachel): Mom, guess what! We sneaked out of the house to get your Mother's Day present.
Carol: That's great, girls! You know that I can't wait! What did you get me?
Jan (Amber): Cindy entered a Shirley Temple song and dance contest and won a lot of money, so we were able to get you ...  six pairs of Michael Kors shoes!
Carol: Those are so nice! I need to go shopping and see if I can find a dress. Let me have the keys to the station wagon, Marcia.
Cindy (Gwen): Uh, Mom. The station wagon isn't here.
Carol: What?! Marcia, didn't you drive the car home? Where is it? Don't tell me you lost it like Cindy lost my favorite earrings!
Marcia: Remember the time Peter played ball in the house and accidentally broke your favorite vase? Well, I've had the same bad luck. I had sort of an accident and totaled the car.
Carol: What?! Marcia, you are grounded! Go to your room!
Jan: Don't worry, Mom. We saved so many trading stamps over the last 40 years that we were also able to get you ...  a Lexus IS250C Convertible!!!

Girls: Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
Carol and the girls hug and head for the convertible.
And this happy Brady Mother's Day Showcase can be yours if the price is right.

Come on people, stop making references to Brady Bunch stuff that wasn't intentional.

In Money Game, was anybody else rooting for Patricia and Abby to pick 95 (for the extra money) before picking the 22?

Well...the way Drew hosts this game, you'd never know the contestants won money whenever they revealed a dollar sign. They might as well just call it "The Front & Back Game." Heck, they could potentially save a few hundred bucks with each playing!

If you're talking about real orange juice, Anita Bryant was the main spokeswoman for Florida orange juice through most of the '70s until her anti-homosexuality opinions got in the way of things.

Florence was in a number of commercials for Tang, but that contains about .000000001% juice.  :oldlol:

The 7,654th episode (162nd for Season 40)

4th One-Bid
I saw the "CBS DVD" logo, but the Brady Bunch and Happy Days were ABC shows, and I Love Lucy was the only CBS show offered.

Showcase #1
