Missed the first two IUFBs and up to the middle of the second pricing game due to Pres. Obama's Press Conference.

Wow, another good show to finish off the week! Amazing to have a 17-13 (or 16-14, for the purists) week in June. :) This was a true FPG lineup - Adam is definitely playing with us now, with 10C last for only the 2nd time since season 29, and Eazy 1st as well. Was great to see 10C get another win on as tough a setup as you can get in that game - I just wish it got played even a bit more than the ridiculous 10-week schedule it's on.

As for the new pricing game, I love it and think it's a great addition to the rotation. Definitely my favorite of the three post-Roger pricing games. More thoughts are in the thread.

Drew is definitely getting weaker as the season winds down. In particular, his explanation of the new pricing game, of all things, was poor today - he's just mailing it in at this point. Dimich was extremely poor today as well - the show is just way too edited now. In particular, there was an obvious cut in Eazy, where Drew was in mid-sentence, and it cut him off! You can't do that. No wonder he got fired.

26 pairs of jeans is no better a prize than 365 pairs of shoes. Stop with the excessive clothes, Mike....

Timings:
Eazy as 123 (4) - 3:46
Cover Up (5) - 4:34
Double Cross (4) - 3:56 (timing it at 4 for now...)
Side By Side (3.5) - 2:43
Cliff Hangers (4.5) - 5:01
10 Chances (6) - 5:22
Total (27): 25:22

Yay for living in Hawaii and Obama's press conference's not overriding Price!  :P

Eazy was pretty easy as long as one considered 3D HDTVs more expensive than bikes, which the size of the TV helped out with.

Cover Up was back to usual-hard.

Double Cross is a cool game, a bit too glitzy of a set, but a good concept. The setup was brutal, though, as all the choices were within $1,000 of each other for both prizes, plus the deceptively expensive grill. It'd be interesting to see if they'll come up with some more interesting setups, such as those where a price that looks "nice" on one prize ends up making the other prize an obviously wrong price.

I wonder if we'll see it next week, or maybe in one of the summer specials...

Cliff Hangers could have been exacta'd with the ol' 20-30-40 combo. At least he didn't listen to that girl in the audience (his significant other?) who wanted him to go $10...

And a nice 10 Chances win to wrap things up! It was weird that for the middle prize, the lowest non-zero number ended up being the correct first digit; usually, the first digit is one of the two highest digits. She did well, though, zero-rule violations aside (and honestly, I'm not expecting contestants to know the zero rule anymore, though they should be following it by the time they reach the car, and at least she didn't try ending with anything other than -5).

And both 10 Chances this season and pricing games this week get winning records (regardless of whether Plinko counts as a win or not)!

SC2: So I guess ridiculous amounts of designer shoes was not enough for the producers, so they went up the body a bit to jeans? Still ridiculous.

I think that new game Double Cross is kind of cool. Personally, I'd love to see a lot more new pricing games in the future. Ever since Drew took over the show, We've only had one or two premiering every two years. Also, this is the first new pricing game that is played for prizes other than a car or cash since the new Balance Game premiered in February 2006.

Heck, I should be happy that this new pricing game premiere didn't get interrupted like the first game and a half and also the premiere of On The Spot in 2003. That particular pre-emption (in my area) kind of disgusted me.

I missed the entire show because I thought that Obama's conference was gonna last a whole hour and I thought it would pre-empted the show, so I went back to sleep. But I did watch it on CBS.com.

THE BAD NEWS:

Cover Up: Only one word: EVIL! Tough Break for Rory..........

Double Cross: I like the new game and it's a awesome concept, but unfortunately Janice fell victim to the peanut gallery (Mostly her husband I'm guessing). At least she won her showcase, though.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Eazy Az 1-2-3: "Eazy" setup for Corey!

Side-by-Side: Andrew did a good job!

Cliffhangers: Joshua played that like a pro! Too bad he went over on his showcase, even though it was lame (A year's worth of crappy jeans?! Might as well stick with the shoes, Mike..........).

10 Chances: The director didn't even bother showing the entire game, which was lazy on his account.............I guess Mike firing him is a good thing. But Janie did win it all the way!

4/6 wins and no Daniel Goddard! A good show IMHO, but while I'm glad to see Manuela and Gwendolyn, I hope to see more of Rachel and Amber, too............Maybe next week, I guess.

Yeah, the "by the book" 20-30-40 set-up and the last items made for an interesting playing. Drew seems careful about how much he can give away about strategy. But Cliffhangers is one game (along with Rent and Cover Up) that he seems to try to use a little emphasis in his voice to suggest strategy to those who are listening. Drew might not be able to tell them "go high, because there's no point in covering super-low or negative numbers." But he did have that the contestant could be off by $21 "high or low", which sort of hints at it. In spite of that, she still signaled $10 from the crowd.

My preemption end during the first round of Cover Up. Seems like he was using the strategy intentionally. I wish he would have won. Aside from the implausible 3 as the 2nd digit, ending the price with 88 makes it seem like he only cared about the first digit to start.

This was a great show overall.

Cliff set up for 20-30-40, as soon as I saw that I knew this board would be going apeshit.  I'm still hoping that that's the setup one day when a member here gets up, and says something to the effect of "I'm not even going to look at the prizes." and rattles off 20-30-40.

Very friendly setup on 10 Chances as well, without a 2 in there to screw things up she had a 5/6 chance on the car and was rewarded for playing it right.

Doulbe Cross looks like it can be a fair game, if you can pin down one price or the other you're good.

Nice to see the Cover Up strategy used, too bad it didn't work for him.

Like PriceBuster, I went back to sleep during the conference, except I woke up in the middle of Double Cross.

I didn't mind it too much, but I agree that there should be a G-T asterisk or something for the first and last position on each line. I actually liked the set though, despite it being a little gaudy with all of the lights. It should be a good change from seeing Switch and Bargain Game every other show, and it reminded me a little of Make Your Move as well.

I'm still hoping that that's the setup one day when a member here gets up, and says something to the effect of "I'm not even going to look at the prizes." and rattles off 20-30-40.

That reminds me of when someone picked #4 at the beginning of ½ Off, and ended up winning.
