Bah... well, 3 dud shows out of 11 in June really isn't too bad (and yes, even the NoT for a car show was less blah than this, really, so I'm lumping this with June 1 and 12). Temptation is plainly a terrible special show game, and put Half in a weird slot on top of it, which at least was won.

Of course now Danger shows... why Spree again in the first place?

Ironically Money on -40 was probably the easiest car setup this week, but certainly not easy. Very weird setup though.

ARPs today remind you so much how much 251-350, heck 251-299 has occurred this season. Once again it's an overreaction to last season, which was very lucky to get so many 000-249.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

So far, Drew is okay a game show host in this show, but I'm glad he's getting more challenging on contestants.  He does special holiday episodes, besides "Christmas",  on "Halloween", "Valentine's Day", "Saint Patrick's Day", "Mother's Day" and today, "Father's Day".

Stephanie looks 100% attractive in her teal jeans in this episode.  Too bad, she and her father, Jose, did not win the prize an failed to get into the showcase.

Blah. I think we should just get rid of the Father's Day special. It's just as valid as Mother's Day, but it comes at a much worse time in the season. At this point of the season, they are always plainly out of money, to the point where most games need to be set up for a loss. The first half in particular was just impenetrable today. All three games were at least fair, but all very hard and likely going to be lost (Danger was hard because designer crap having be a nice price that is also the danger price is just tricky). And, really, I thought this would be one day that we would escape from designer crap. What the heck, Mike?

Still, the 1/2 Off win was a nice capper on a very good season for this game. And it was interesting to see a more creative than normal lineup for a special, perhaps as a sendoff to FPG (which didn't actually happen today anyway, aww). I'm pretty sure no one was expecting Danger today, ORP over Switch, COG over Squeeze, and Half 4th? And Tempty on 2 weeks? Something seems fishy to me. :) It's a shame at this stage we couldn't have a better show to go with it. I feel bad for the fathers. At least both showcases offered a car, and neither seemed especially blatantly set up for an overbid.

The season number was actually right as the back of the car in Money Game? That won't happen again until at least season 45 :)

Timings:
Temptation (6) - 6:06
Coming Or Going (3.5) - 3:05
Danger Price (4.5) - 3:42
1/2 Off (5.5) - 5:33
Money Game (4.5) - 4:34
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:52
Total (27.5): 25:52

Temptation: I thought for sure Card Game was going to played instead when I saw the Jeep Compass behind Door #2. The Floreses thankfully bailed out when they did.

CoG: Pretty much a forced loss.

Danger Price: The Goldmans dodged a bullet at the start by choosing the ATV, but once they next selected the pool table, I prepared for the worst.

1/2 Off: Last $10K win here this season!

Money: The Anniversary Trick finally does somebody in.

Double Prices: Thank goodness The Browns went w/ their instinct of Hawaii!

Showcases: Well, this Father's Day episode ended the same way it did last season.

Second least-enjoyable episode this week, IMO.

Eh, I would say that in Mike's mind, Mothers > Fathers, but I can understand this is the "budget" point of the show, so it's more just bad luck for the fathers.

Still, at least 1/2 Off gets in another win off a 1 in 4. This season, 1/2 Off got in 3 wins out of 8 when it was down to four boxes, which is better than the raw odds. (It was won 2 times out of 4 when it was down to 2 boxes, which is exactly what one would expect from the raw odds.)

And they finally decide to make the season number the correct back half, comboing it with the classic front-and-back trick. Many have fallen into that trap before, so it's not really a hard setup, but unfortunately the Michaels fell for the other traps on the board.

Painful WSD to end the show. And yeah, that's an awful lot of 251-299 this season, which I don't like. I'm find with "hard" DSW's (a.k.a. not 000-250), but I prefer them to be 300-899; 251-299 pretty much just taunts the -000 bidders, and 900-999 is just cruel to them.

Edit: Fun fact: This season in 1/2 Off, every box has held the cash except #13 (more or less expected) and #4 (no real reason), with #12 holding the money for the first time this season.

Also, 4 of the 5 1/2 Off wins this season happened on special shows (7500th show, NPH celebrity show, Twins show, and Father's Day show).

Nice wins on 1/2 Off & 1 Right Price.  Money Game was evil, IMO.

What a heartbreaking overbid in the Showcase!

Not a very good show overall, IMHO.

I cannot believe that Mike stuck the back of the car behind 40 in Money Game.  The season number is never the correct number!

My showcase bids:
Truck--$27,107
Car--$27,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Thought I'd at least bump this recap back to the top.

Considering the new way new members have to post, I honestly can't believe that someone really took the time for that. Wow. Nice to see summer has begun.

About this show, when you have to set up a special like this because it is one of the last shows of the season, then guess what.....it's not the time for one. I love my father as much as the next person, but if they can't come up with a solution other than using Temptation, "highest price possible" Coming or Going, and tricky accessories in Danger then it's time to stop. Seeing that isn't enjoying and it looks crappy for a special. This was salvaged by a Half-Off win. Also, at least they helped by offering 2 cars in the showcase, but people don't watch the show for just the showcase.

The season number was right in Money Game. Ha. That was set-up for an LFAT loss.

You'd be surprised how many people on here only watch the show for the showcases/css, it's a shame.
