Well, we managed to luck out of a slow Race playing as well as the expected tough TTM setup and manage another good show out of little (Gas though gets another eyesore of a playing).

That said, even given they were going to roll out a budget-oriented lineup... I'll look over Gas I guess, but why Race instead of T2 and NoT instead of Bullseye / Grocery? As a minor note, Eazy has been very varied this season with many 2nd and 5th slot playings to go along with that 1st. Awkward setup today though, and Deborah was a bit too spazzy to get that, as evidenced by that complete failure on the new boat.

Chat today was mostly fixated on Scott up until TTM. Scott may have been on a lot of game shows and try to profit off of that even beyond the actual shows, but he is no Price guru. Although it's hard to judge someone on a quickie, he nut-looked pretty badly (and actually got swayed by them when flopping, which ended up correct today but many, many have lost that way). But the icing on the cake was not bidding $1. It's been awhile with these SCs this season since there was a clear over, but that was today, and he just didn't seem to recognize it.

Again, for a complete leftover show very, very good.

--Merged to one post,
-Vader ;)

Sorry for the double post, but as usual I forgot something... <-- Thanks Bobby, heh.

... Special guest. Olympics. Special guest. On 2-prize SC. On frigging leftover show.

So stupid.

FF: Luckily for Scott & the audience, this was pretty easy today.

GM: I sensed trouble when I saw the five prices for the Wrangler. It may be just me, but I think the audience wanted Almaz to eliminate the $27K+ first. If she was fortunate enough, she could've bailed out w/ at least $5K by cutting the two most expensive prices at the start.

Race: She may not have looked at the audience at all, but Janey was too slow for this PG. Luckily, she won on her second round.

NoT: To me, it wasn't as easy as it usually is for a non-car prize this time.

Eazy: Easy on paper, but not won.

TTM: I seriously doubt Mike wanted either car game won today, but we got lucky on this one! Since the redesigned Sonata was introduced back in '11, this game has been won in each of the three times it's been offered (including today)! Maybe he shouldn't offer that car in TTM again for a long, long time.

SCSD2: Prior to today, the first two Sonata TTM winners (especially Robert) won at least $11K on The Big Wheel. Unfortunately, Caroline just missed the $1 on her first spin & never even made it to the Showcase.

Showcases: Scott was pretty much home free after Deborah's final fail.

Great show today!

Today was splendid, mostly because of a certain contestant today:

THE BAD NEWS:

Gas Money: I really didn't blamed Almaz for wiping out on the game, but IMHO, Drew intentionally jinxed it for her. The reason is him pulling out his "The Luckiest Model" card again. First Drew called Manuela that last week, now Rachel from today? And from the same game?!?! (sighing heavily while shaking my head)

Eazy Az 1-2-3: Did Deborah really think that the scooter would be more than the BBQ? Her going over on her showcase wasn't that surprising for me. :wotc:

THE GOOD NEWS:

Flip Flop: The highlight from today has gotta be Scott Hostetler, aka The Game Show Guru! He strikes once again winning Flip Flop and his showcase......I really love this guy ever since Press Your Luck. He's truly a winner!

Race Game: Janey really did excellent on the second try!

Now or Then: Thanks to the pie crusts, Alexander got this in the bag!

TTM: Caroline wasn't gonna get duped by Mike's sneaky traps..........She was too smart for that and that's why she won!

Despite a Gas Money wipeout, it was a pretty good 4/6 show!

Flip Flop was really easy today. Race game was won by luck and Now or then was fair. Eazy as 123 coulda been won and that's too much was lucky win right there. Gas money had a terrible wipeout.

Can you list any more facts about today's show?

The Showcases had 1 Overbid, but it coulda been won.

FF: At least it was won. :p
Gas: Yikes........ But I was thinking it was $24,635, so either way, I'd lose.
Race: Kinda slow, but a nice 0 to 4 turnaround :)
N.... o T: Nicely played
Eazy: Meh.
That's Too Much: Meh. But at least it was won

I'm surprised no one caught this yet. An incorrect sound effect was used after Janay went over after her 2nd spin during SCSD #1. Anybody else noticed this?

A couple of us noticed that.

One thing I want to know, though...when did the little box that displays Race Game's timer move to the bottom left of the screen? I noticed this last playing...and it seemed a little jarring.

All I know is that it had to happen between the Season Premiere and 4/16/2012. I myself find it better than the top right, but that's just me.

 8-O RACE GAME.

Gas wipeout? TTM win? What happened today?

Funny how I spent my morning at work writing a song about Flip Flop. Maybe I'll share.

I knew I'd seen him before. He's actually a professional contestant?

Wow, another That's Too Much win 8th! That would be such a great note to end the regular season on. In fact, let's pretend tomorrow doesn't count and say it did :) Credit to the contestant's dad for not only knowing a lot about cars, but knowing enough to go very far in TTM setups. It's interesting that the only other time TTM has been won 8th in recent memory was May 7 of this season and it was ALSO for a Hyundai Sonata (in fact, at least four of the same fakes were used!) It's clear Mike's going to have to find other cars to use 8th...

This really wasn't all that bad, considering it was clearly just a leftover show. The lineup was a bit random, as Wayo alluded to, but it was at least a pretty strong lineup - unusual but nice to see Race Game and Eazy as 123 together. We also had some good gameplay all around today, and we really only had weak gameplay on the two losses. It's a shame Gas Money had to get blatantly used an extra time, but we're at that point in the season. This show was way better than it had any right to be, anyway.

Man, it had been so long since a guest appeared ONLY in the showcase I forgot what that felt like. Can we do that more please?

Timings:
Flip Flop (3.5) - 3:47
Gas Money (5.5) - 4:40
Race Game (5) - 5:04
Now Or Then (5) - 4:31
Eazy as 123 (4) - 4:16
That's Too Much (5) - 4:10
Total (28): 25:28

I see. So you hated his appearances on The Gong Show in '77 and Wheel of Fortune in '78 (his first two game shows; Press was his third)? :-?

Scott may have been on a lot of game shows and try to profit off of that even beyond the actual shows, but he is no Price guru. ... But the icing on the cake was not bidding $1. It's been awhile with these SCs this season since there was a clear over, but that was today, and he just didn't seem to recognize it.
I personally believe it was more of the "do not be stupid" strategy of not bidding less than $20,000 because you otherwise leave yourself wide open in the event your opponent is not over.

The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)
