After two weeks, the season is still wide open.  A buttload of teams at 1-1, and only 5 teams at 2-0 (soon to be 6 teams once the Atlanta-Denver game is played).  Of course, not all of the 2-0 teams are that impressive.  Though one of my teams, the Eagles, is among the 2-0 group, they won both of their games by only 1 point.  And one of those 1-point wins was against Cleveland last week.  Seriously, how do you beat Cleveland by only 1 point?  Hell, even Cincinnati beat them by a TD yesterday.  The San Francisco 49ers are also at 2-0, but nobody should take that seriously because of the simple fact that they're the San Francisco 49ers.

The Houston Texans look the most impressive so far.  But again, the season is still wide open for everybody.

What does that mean? To me, San Fran is the best team in the NFL right now. Best defense and Alex Smith has become a much better quarterback and game manager. Houston would be #2 for me.

And yes, while the Eagles have only won each game by one point, look at how they have played. The defense has been outstanding through 2 games. DeMeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks have given the Eagles great linebacker play, which they haven't had in some time. Turnovers have hurt so far, but just think if they can cut them. This team is a "sky is the limit" type team.

Thanks to four Denver turnovers in the first quarter alone (three picks by Manning), and in part to the sloppy refereeing, Atlanta took control early. They made it interesting going vanilla in the fourth quarter, but they stood tall when they needed to.

Falcons RB Michael Turner was arrested last night after the game for speeding (96 in a 65 mph zone) and DUI in an Atlanta suburb. His status vs. San Diego this upcoming Sunday is in question.

You know, while we're on the subject of the replacement referees, I forgot to talk about Brian Stropolo on Sunday.  A giant "Whoops!" moment for everybody involved there.  I always knew that referees in the NFL and NBA were playing favorites, but normally, they don't make it nearly as public as Stropolo has.

This team is a "sky is the limit" type team.

It's funny how we keep hearing this from Eagles fans, yet the rest of us note that they squeaked by the Browns by one point and have continual turnover issues.

The Eagles need to learn how to walk before they can fly.

I'll point back to where I said "If they can cut down on turnovers"

And if we're going to bash the Eagles for beating the Browns by one (which, let's be honest, the Browns defense isn't as bad as some people make it out to be), let's hold the Patriots accountable for losing at home to the Cardinals. Yes, the Cards are now 2-0, and a team on the rise, despite a terrible offensive line, but these are the games the Patriots are supposed to win. So bottom line, while it took until the end, the Eagles found a way to win and won a game they were supposed to. That's what it's about in this league.

2-0. That is all.

It's too early to be making such boasts. That could be 16-0 or 2-14 at the end of the season.  :P

Cam was no match for Eli last night. I wound up tuning to the Arkansas (Pine Bluff)-Alabama State game, just to see how ex-Georgia Bulldog Isiah Crowell did (11-40, 1 TD).

Our problems were way more than Cam just not being a match for Eli last night.

Exactly. Starting with the fact that their run defense couldn't stop a car going 1 mph.
