Famed director dead at 68 from a suicide by jumping off a bridge in LA. (And yes, I heard about it from TMZ...)

The reason he committed suicide is that he had inoperable brain cancer:

Either way, it's still a bummer. I liked Top Gun and Days of Thunder. RIP Tony...........
