Obvious question: where does that $9 difference between the two Showcase bids rank all-time? I can't even remember one that close... wow.

Someone mentioned the $1 one above, then there is the $5 one plastered on Youtube...

...yup, that's it.

I could tell by Drew's reaction today something was cut out. It was still funny on-air, but it was clear something was missing.

Also yes, I still remember that $5 diff, and the $1 double DSW is TPiR lore. Come on, heels.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Thomas is one of the best Grocery Game players I've seen in a long time.

Did anyone catch what Drew was saying about Myron Cope when Thomas spun the Big Wheel?

The showcases were awesome today -- #1 was an old-fashioned wordplay showcase (never thought I'd see the day that would be refreshing), and #2 was an honest-to-goodness Splendido!!

I thought the aired version of Mary's Showcase bid was pretty funny.  The unedited version, though, is actually kind of depressing -- it's nearly two full mintues of Drew just standing there, not hosting.

5PT was set up a bit easier than normal, with two easy Falses and the correct price not being the absolute cheapest, but it still had the usual contestant problems of always going False on the SPs and thinking that the Chrysler 200 is a 300...

Race Game was played flat-out horribly.

Grocery Game was played flat-out awesomely.

Mary's attempt to bid on her showcase was hilariously excruciating. The result was a super-close one, too.

Episode #6082K

Does anyone else have the problem that the recap doesn't load in their browser?  I get a picture of a long and very narrow image that isn't legible.

I know the Race Game playing wasn't the greatest but if you're going to win just the one prize, I reckon the big TV is a good one to win.

Adam has tried putting the recap actually onto the site but is running into a bit of difficulty on that front. He and others are currently trying to resolve it. Until then, you can click on the very narrow image that should make it much larger and easier to read.

As for this episode, it was nice to see Five Price Tags, Race Game, and Grocery Game for the first time this season. I see Bargain is really starting a rotation now and that's also nice.

Great Grocery Game playing and a nice theme.

Mary was something else. That was a nice ending though.

Considering the great lineup and relatively open setups, this actually turned out pretty blah. 5PT and Race in particular were played terribly. Always nice to see a well-played Grocery win though.

Timings:
5 Price Tags (5.5) - 4:52
Push Over (4) - 3:00
Race Game (5) - 5:16
Grocery Game (5) - 4:53
Any Number (5) - 4:06
Bargain Game (3.5) - 3:40
Total (28): 25:47

Looks like Door #1 got a paint job some time between July and August of this year. In today's episode, Door #1 was painted a more brownish-orange, while in the premiere week last week, which was taped in August, the door was bright orange. Any guesses as to why the staff made the sudden change? I personally liked today's Door #1 better than the bright orange seen on premiere week.

The silver strips on the bottom of all three doors are different, too...there are two smaller, parallel strips as opposed to the one solid silver one.

I agree with you about the doors looking better than the more recent scheme. I hate the bright orange on Door #1. That, with the lightup logo, makes the whole thing look cartoonish.  This color scheme looks much cleaner and more professional.  I also much prefer the two smaller parallel silver strips at the bottom. Why was this changed?

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Yeah, I agree about Door #1. I was ready to make a post last week about Door #1 reminding me of the "Hollywood Mural" turntable look. The Door #1 colors were too bright, making it look too fake, almost like it was green screened as a fake background. It did look too cartoonish (that's a great description) - it was distracting watching the game play with those bright colors in the background. I'm glad they changed it for the better.

It was interesting that the silver strips also changed.

Again, the "cartoonish" Door #1 was the change -- the shows with the darker door were taped earlier in the summer.
