Why was the Thanksgiving show today?
« on: November 19, 2012, 10:32:33 PM »
I noticed that today's episode was a Thanksgiving-themed show, and at the end, Drew signed off by saying Happy Thanksgiving. I thought that should have been for Wednesday. I wondered if that meant that tomorrow and Wednesday would be reruns, but according to this site, and CBS.com, they're new episodes, but the episode today was taped in October, and the others were September and August. Is there a reason why they were switched?

Yes, this has been discussed in both the recap thread and the "Schedule Fails" thread.

cbs.com has the correct airdates.

Today's episode was moved up so Rob could do a live twitter thing.

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz
