I just saw the special, I really enjoyed it.  Bob was truly deserving of the #1 spot, and everything that everyone said in his segment was true.
When they did the bit about the retirement and Rich went into that little thing, I did a 2-shot - that was funny! :-D

I thought this was a great show! I couldn't really argue with the placement of any of the hosts...well, maybe Bill Cullen and Richard Dawson should have switched places, but Bob is clearly the #1 guy.  Everyone's comments were spot on...especially Rich's about being 82!

Quick question. In GSN's countdown of the 50 greatest gameshows, what made number one?  Since they used TPiR footage in top 10 hosts show, I'm guessing TPiR made #1, but I could like some comfirmation

That list was as follows:

50   3's a Crowd
49   Treasure Hunt
48   Blockbusters
47   Studs
46   Hollywood Showdown
45   Shop Til You Drop
44   Truth or Consequenses
43   Tattletales
42   Queen for a Day
41   The $1.98 Beauty Show
40   Twenty-One
39   G.E. College Bowl
38   Whammy!
37   Greed
36   Remote Control
35   Beat the Clock
34   Sale of the Century
33   Dog Eat Dog
32   Tic-Tac-Dough
31   You Bet Your Life
30   Card Sharks
29   Scrabble
28   The $64,000 Question
27   Win Ben Stein's Money
26   Deal or No Deal
25   Password Plus/Super Password
24   Win, Lose or Draw
23   The Joker's Wild
22   Weakest Link
21   I've Got a Secret
20   Concentration
19   To Tell the Truth
18   Love Connection
17   Name That Tune
16   Lingo
15   Password
14   What's My Line?
13   Press Your Luck
12   The Gong Show
11   Hollywood Squares
10   The Dating Game
09   The Newlywed Game
08   The $xx0,000 Pyramid
07   Let's Make a Deal
06   Wheel of Fortune
05   Who Wants to be a Millionaire
04   The Price is Right
03   Family Feud
02   Jeopardy!
01   Match Game

Sadly, Price was not #1, but this is more than likely due to the fact that they don't have airing rights and what fun would a list be if they can't show the #1 show?  (Though it could and should have been at least #2.)  They chose Match Game because it's their #1 rated show.

(Edited to better state the truth.)

But they didn't even air an episode of their number two show, so there's no reason TPIR couldn't have at least been number two on their list.

I think you can probably take "most likely" out of that sentence.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

Your probably right on both accounts.  They should have made Price at least #2 and it is more like "definitely."  (I'll edit accordingly.)

Thanks John!  Nice clips.

Those oldest clips weren't from the Patricia show, were they?

The only reason they put Regis Philbin on the list is beacuse GSN has an unhealthy obsession with WWTBAM. They gave it a 1 hour special, they rerun abuse it. and they even put it at #5 on there 50 greartest game shows.

Oh, it just isn't GSn.  There are quite a few people with some unexplained obsession with Who Wants to Be A Millionaire.  I certanily wouldn't consider it one of the greatest game shows of all time.  Definetly one of the most impacting, it changed the look of game shows completely, and not in a way that was necessarily good.
