Well just an average show today, folks.

Cover Up--DAMN IT ROGER!!  Forced loss.  First try, she gets only one number right, then on her second try--the second, third, and fourth numbers were right.  I had it down to the 2 or the 4.  I thought $20,654 sounded right along with Mary.  Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be.  Tough break.  $20,652 is EVIL.

Race Game--Robert gave it his all and a nice win with no time left on the clock!  Unfortunately the only win today.

Balance Game 06--DAMN IT ROGER!!  Another toughie.  It was down to either $8,000 or $9,000 and Kristin picked the wrong one.  I thought $8,000 too.  Tough break.

That's Too Much--Brenda, that's TOO FAR!!  Another contestant that overprices Ford Mustangs.  Number 2, DON'T say "That's it" when you want to stop.  Say, "THAT'S TOO MUCH!!"

Check-Out--Sheila says that she is the perfect shopper.  Well, not quite, but Sheila was close--she is a good shopper, but NOT a great one.  It hurts that she missed winning by only 12 damn cents.  If only if she didn't overprice the Udderly cream, things would have been fine.

I missed out on the last Pricing game today, folks...

Showcases---I thought Sheila was close and Robert went over.  I was wrong.  The trailer in Robert's showcase was loaded and Sheila went over by a little bit over $700.  Robert cleaned house today--winning almost $40,000 in prizes.

More proof people just don't get Cover Up: The lady gets one number right and the audience "awww"s; then she gets them all but the last one and "Hooray!"...now her odds are one in four!

I could've sworn the udder cream was over $5 myself. I'd've lost today, too, because of that and I had everything else right- almost exactly. Shame.

TTM! was actually kinda hard today. The Mustang has been offered above and below $20,155 this season (although with those options, your best bet would have been to go one more).

Bidding Round #1- #117, Nellie! :-D

Race Game- How was that cheap thing $1,995?! Unbelievable. Either way, great win.

Showcase- Yesterday it's pirate's booty, and today it's Port o' Price? Argh.

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Frank picks today.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- A step down from yesterday's beauty... Grade: 2

Actually, all of us in chat said $9K, so it wasn't exactly a toughie.

Painfully average show today. To me it was sorta "blah." For the 2nd time this week the lineup was not worth throwing out the SP game. Shoulda switched Race Game with Cliff Hangers Or Half Off or TTM with Switcheroo, 5PT or Spelling Bee.

Cover Up: Oy, I thought the 4 was gonna be it. Tough loss to start the day.

Race Game: Exciting last second win. Pretty nice prizes offered today as well.

Balance Game: Hmmm, $8271? $9271? 9271 looked better to me, but I can see $8271 as a reasonable guess as well, but then again I wasn't paying too much attention to this playing because I was also flipping back and forth between Price and reruns of Scrubs on Comedy Central.

TTM: And yet another overpricing of a Mustang. Those things ain't made out of gold.

Check Out: Oy, EVIL. E-V-I-L. At least the lotion was. I thought Sheila had it.

1 Right Price: What better way to end an average show than with a bland, boring quickie and a loss to boot.

It wasn't the strategy I'd use (First try: miss the first number and concentrate on the other four), but at least Mary kept herself alive today - and she didn't dawdle along. There's people who love to poll the audience as if they were George Gallup. Mary was not one of those.

In general, that first half seemed to speed right by today.

Cover Up-Tough break with the PS/FP on the car.

Race Game-That gentleman's valet did not look like it was $1,995.  Robert made the only win of the show with this today.

Balance Game-I knew that the piano would be $9,271.

That's Too Much-Pretty funny for Bob to scold Brenda for not saying "That's too much!"  Once again, a contestant overprices a Mustang.

Check Out-Well, the product name labels have been "Dom casualized" for this game also!  That was a tough loss of only 12¢, that udder cream I knew should not have fetched more than $4.50.

One Right Price-That dinette looked like it was far more than $1,450.

Showcases-Well, that was a tough overbid for Sheila-only $703.  Here are my bids/differences:

Port O' Price-$17,098/199
Trailer-$29,785/1,311

Cover Up: Mary East played this very well at the start, but things totally fell apart on the second turn.

Race Game: Another military person gets on the show- and wins this! I was surprised the valet master was pretty expensive.

Balance Game: I had a feeling $9,271 was right for the piano.

That's Too Much: This is what should have happened when it was played on the Christmas show.

Check Out: Tough break, Sheila. I thought she had this won.

One Right Price: Stupid random lawn mowers.

Showcases: Sheila just couldn't quite do it today.

Overall: OK show today, thanks to some contestants.

Cover Up: My gut feeling the last number was 2 and I was right.

Race Game: Good for Robert winning all 4 prizes when it landed on 0 seconds. The only big highlight of the show.

Balance Game: Knew that piano was over $9,000.

That's Too Much: Would've stopped at $20,155 and lose that.

Check Out: My total was $12.02. I was off by 88 cents. A win for me.

One Right Price: I knew that lawn mower was $1450.

Showcases: I bid $17,000 on the first showcase. Missed winning both showcases by $47. Didn't really focused on the second one.

Actually, Kimberly from the last show had him beat by a couple of hours.  Hers was "My Desire (break) Don't Retire"

I can't remember another time when someone's chance of winning Cover Up went from good to bad that fast.

Kudos for Robert.  If he used logic (can't say that he didn't) then those 18 seconds were well spent.

Aside from the one moment where Robert turned to the audience, he played Race Game very well.  For every tag placement, he clearly looked like he was thinking out what looked reasonable.

I'm not surprised that That's too Much! was lost, but I was surpried that Brenda was only over by one price.  The Mustang was much more expensive than I expcted it to be.

I lost Check-Out even worse than Shelia did.  The last three products really tripped me up. :-P
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

One-Bid #2:  $2,080 for a fan?!

PG #2:  I don't think Roger wanted this game won today.  Who actually would've thought that... um, "gentleman's valet" would be $1,995?  Nicely won by our Army officer friend.  To quote what I told Tom over IM:  $1,995 FOR THAT THING?!

PG #3:  Didn't we just see this piano the other day?  I knew it had to be $9,271.  Should not have been lost.  And I think the scale operators were a little asleep today.

One-Bid #4:  Crap By Max alert!

PG #4:  I've said it before and I'll say it again:  Mustang + TTM! = Forced loss.  It was interesting to see TTM! being played 4th, at least.

I looked at the clock on my work computer after TTM... 11:27.  I can't believe the show is running short today.  Should be plenty of time for a small prize game.

PG #5:  $5,105 for a trip to Charleston, SC?  What the Hell?!  Those Check-Out product placards are reportedly supposed to be Dom Casualed, but we couldn't tell today.  No good closeups.

PG #6:  WHA?!  Two straight days without an SP game?!

My showcase bids:
FRPOPS--$17,401
FRTS--$25,166
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Cover Up - I was thinking the last number was going to be either 4 or 6. Oh, what PS/FP can do to a person...

Race Game - A great down-to-the-wire win and an unexpected $1,995 valet made this playing an enjoyable one for me.

Balance Game - Easy. Most of the baby grands I've seen on the show have been between $9,000 - $10,000

TTM - It always makes me smile when a contestant gives a perfect practice TTM and then doesn't follow suit with the actual one. Mainly because of how Bob admonishes people who do that.

Checkout: AAUGH! With all the evil newbie products! (the cream in this case)

1RP: Pretty tricky today. Both prizes looked $1450.

Showcase 2: There's one hotel I won't be staying at. :)

Cover Up-I really wanted her to win.  She looked like she's seen this game before.  She used good Cover Up strategy, and she barely looked at the audience for help.  EVIL, ROGER!!

Race Game-A winner at the buzzer!  I thought he was dead in the water when he started to look at the audience, but he managed to win!  Easy setup.

Balance Game-It looked like she was originally going to go for $9271 but listened to the majority of the audience and went with $8271.  Should have went with her gut.

That's Too Much-The Ford Mustang strikes again! All the extra options made it $21K.  The moment she went to $25K, I knew she'd lost.

Check-Out-OUCH, painful loss!  I figured the cream would be $5.99, resulting in a penny win.  EVIL ROGER!!

1 Right Price-No way that dinette set would be that cheap.

A 1 out of 6 show with 2 painful losses.  On an interesting note, 5 out of the 9 people that got to come on down wore red shirts.

Cover Up: My first prediction is that Mary got only the 2 right on the first try. I Escape.

Race Game: I thought Robert got them all right the first time. Then it got confusing because I thought that little valet was just some wood thing to just throw clothes on. I totally did not think Robert would get them all right in the end.

Balance Game: Kristin was saying "four" to the gallery and used the "three" on the scale? Ugh. Even for a baby grand piano I would reach to $10K as possible.

"That's It.": "That was way too much."
To me, this was kind of a toss up. It was between stoppping (with the appropriate cue) on $20,155 and $22,560. [Well, as I type, stopping at over $23K would have been an option.]

Check-Out: If you think you're a perfect shopper, Check-Out is the ultimate challenge. Sheila played okay, but that Udderly Smooth was just killer. I would've said around $6.00 myself and lose.

One Bid 6: Now this is also going to be killer because at least one of them is going to the House to watch someting else besides House. I wanted Nellie to 701 Edward, but that would have been even worse for some people.

1 Right Price: Because I was thinking so much about the 'dreaded' $980 riding mower, I immediately said the dining group would be $1450. Bad use of thought.
