3/8/13 -- RESULTS
« on: March 08, 2013, 03:06:07 PM »
Could I make a new FPG list?  Please?  Wow... I did not think they would dare play Plinko on a Publishers Clearing House Gimmick Week ever again after last year's fiasco.

I found it interesting that all five of us who picked Pick-a-Number--DJ, Kev, vader, Wayoshi, and me--not only slotted it #2 but picked Pay the Rent to start the show.  And you see what that got us.  A free trip to Suck City USA.

Speaking of gimmicks, I have an announcement that concerns a gimmick that I'm gonna try out for one game at the end of this month.  That game will be on March 29, which is the Friday before April Fools Day.  I'll post about this special little April Fools rule in two weeks, but here's a hint:  the word "Joker" will be involved.

This week's scoreboard is very interesting.  Three of the five top spots are occupied by first-time players, and the other two spots are occupied by infrequent players.

Our third-place finisher shot himself in the foot by using both his "4" and "6" confidence rankings twice.  That's a no-no in this game, and all of those 4s and 6s automatically became 1s.  So he finishes with 8 MP/12 CP on picks of Most (wS/rR), Pocket (wS/rR), and PAP (rS/rR).  That was joeyboy!

Our second-place finisher doubled joeyboy's CP score.  With picks of Pocket (rS/rR), TTM! (wS/rR), and Plinko (rS/wR), that silver medal goes to my fellow moderator, JokerFan!

And our winner, in only his second game this season, came away with 8 MP/40 CP on picks of Most (wS/rR), TTM! (rS/rR), and Plinko (rS/wR).  It was...

wildbill0962!  Congratulations!

See you next week!

Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Nice job jinxing us, Fireball. :P

Adjusting for PCH ended up being too hard, especially since they actually played Plinko. I didn't even consider PaPsmear, although I guess I should have. Try again next week...

I'm surprised you all went Pay The Rent to start the show. Hearing Drew say "...and if you place all the items in their correct spot you win $100,000 plus a bonus of $20,000!" The $100K completely overshadows the $20K making that statement sound awkwardly odd.

I took my chances picking Stack the Deck over That's Too Much. A shame that couldn't pay off.

I originally had Most Expensive first and a win, but I changed it to Easy as 123, because I didn't think they'd play both Double Prices and Most Expensive on the same day, and I was pretty sure they'd choose Double Prices over Most Expensive.  I should have just left it like I had it.  I believe if I had kept my original line-up, I would have tied for first.

The best way to end the week SHOULD have been to lead off with a Big 3 or Pay the Rent, that's why.

I forgot the production values of this show have gone down the tubes lately and they wouldn't lead off the final show of this week with a Big 3 or Rent like they should.

I debated between Rent and Plinko, which seemed like the biggest two possibilities over Punch. 5-18 because my slotting sucked today. I got 3 games (TTM, ME and Plinko were my first half.), only managed 12th. Ah well.

I would've taken PAP if I hadn't been so hard-up to put Rent in a gimmick week.
