TNPIR November 11, 1994 (features a Superball mistake)
« on: April 02, 2013, 11:33:12 PM »
I'm gonna take a break from Kennedy episodes and do some TNPIR recaps.

Wendy comes on down and will play Superball for a racing bike (no brand name given), trip to St. Thomas, and an Isuzu Amigo (price not mentioned)

Ball #1: Stereo from Aiwa, $70 or $115, chooses $70, is right
Ball #2: Remote control from Casio, $80 or $105, chooses $105, is wrong
Ball #3: Blender from Cuisinart, $100, or $135, chooses $100, is right

Doug's ball: Unknown
Practice ball: Unknown

Ball #1: Lands in $100
Ball #3: Lands in WIN

After Wendy won the car, Doug makes a HUGE blunder by going to commercial and not giving her a chance to play for the Superball. EPIC FAIL.

Robert comes on down and will play Safe Crackers for a dune buggy from Sand Toys and camping equipment from Coleman worth $8,476

Numbers are 2, 7, and 8, guesses $278 LOSS

Price was $287

Juilee comes on down and will play Switch? for a bar set from Beach Billiards and a refrigerator from Subzero

Bar is $3,949 and refrigerator is $$3,240, switches WIN

The Price WAS Right:

Item: Hot dogs from Armour from 1970

Wendy: $.59
Robert: $.69
Juilee: $.65

ARP: $.65

Robert wins and will play the showcase

Showcase:

Draws $10,000 range

How to get a raise from your boss:
Cappuccino machine from La Victoria Arduino
Set of golf clubs from MacGregor
Electric golf cart from Gold Medalist
Electronic memory organizer from Psion
Trip to Puerto Vallarta
Chrysler Concorde

Range is $10,000-70,000, stops rangefinder at $30,000-40,000

Price is $32,921 WIN

Robert wins the showcase and a total of $32,921

I would assume that the Super Ball part of Super Ball was edited because of time constraints, not negligence. And apparently, the Super Ball wasn't won.

That's not what happened at all from what I heard. From what I heard, Wendy rolled the ball into the WIN circle, celebrated a bit, then Doug sent her on her way. If there were edits, it would have been noticeable.

I have a copy of that episode, and I suspect that the Super Ball part of the game was edited for time constraints, since it did not affect the outcome of the game. Either she got the Super Ball and didn't get any money or prizes with it, or she didn't get the Super Ball at all. If it DID affect the game, they would not have edited it out.

The episode just got uploaded on YouTube.

The Superball prize package was worth $22,525.

From the looks of it, it was not edited at all. Maybe they decided not to do the Superball part as suggested. That seems more likely.

I just discovered a couple mistakes in the recap.

Juilee's bid on the hot dogs was $.70 and Wendy was the one who went to the showcase, won, and her total was $49,000+.
