Sometimes I've seen slightly-different items paired together (say a 8GB iPod and a 16BG one) where the price will end up odd.

For identical items like today's, yeah, it's very nearly all the time, but exceptions can and do happen every so often. That's why I didn't want to say 100% and make it sound like Word of Dob.  ;)

Sorry for being late, but because of the manhunt, I thought it would be preempted so I went back to sleep and missed it. I watched it online, though. At least, it's finally over and we can rest easily.......

THE BAD NEWS:

2FTPO1: Tough break for Heidi...............

Squeeze Play: I thought that might've been a easy set-up for Shritank if he took out the 5. At least he won a car in the end.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

PtB: A near wipe-out for Amanda, but at least she got $1000.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Freeze Frame: A easy win for Alicia!

MoL: Sherrie made it all the way to the end, and I was surprised that the Lancer was "More" instead of "Less". That's something you don't see everyday.

Cliffhanger: Melinda played that like a pro! For some reason, I'd like to have a corn dog maker.

Lousy 1st 1/2............Awesome 2nd 1/2! On to Big Money Week...............

I will revise that to 100%. An odd number ending may have happened a long time ago—I've never seen it, but people here seem to think it did.

I will revise that to 99% and present the identical iPads in this episode and the theater seats in this episode as evidence.

The problem with the even/odd discussion is you guys are placing a huge assumption here that contestants are even considering the fact that it is a pair of items and therefore they should price 1 and multiply it by 2. Most contestants will just pick a price that "looks" right or a price that the audience tells them. They might also make assumptions such as there won't be 2 of the same digit in the price, therefore it can't be $858.

I got pre-empted even over in Hawaii, but I did go ahead and watch the More or Less segment.

First of all, when was the last time we had a Mitsubishi on the show? That in itself was an interesting sight.

Second, the car was actually MORE? I guess Mike felt the washer/dryer was tough enough or was just feeling nice...

I will revise that to 100%. An odd number ending may have happened a long time ago—I've never seen it, but people here seem to think it did. However, it's abundantly clear that in the modern era of the show, every single duplicate price ends in an even number.

Your arrogance will be your downfall.  It's happened a few times, even this season.

That's true, and I realize that there's a lot of pressure being onstage under all the lights and cameras, but that still doesn't make it any less frustrating for those of us at home who see it coming a mile away.

You know, I don't like this "Pick One of the Six Numbers and Then Don't Win a Car" game they've been using this year.  I really think they ought to go back to playing Pass the Buck.

On the other hand, it was really nice to hear the old Hawaii cue in the Showcase.

An odd number ending [the price of two prizes] may have happened a long time ago—I've never seen it, but people here seem to think it did.

No, we don't "seem to think it did;" we remember it.  Prices of prizes that are offered as a group, including showcases, are not rounded until they've been added together.  It is totally possible for such a sum to round to an odd number, and it has absolutely happened.
