Second Annual 24-Hour Game Show Marathon
« on: January 16, 2013, 02:24:22 PM »
https://www.facebook.com/24HourGSM

From 3 PM Friday, April 27, 2012 to 3 PM Saturday, April 28, Christian Carrion, Bob Hagh and Cory Anotado attempted something never done before in America: re-enact 24 of the greatest game shows of all time. It was one game an hour, for a continuous 24 hours. With the help of viewers in America and around the world, they managed to do it and raise over $1,200 for the American Cancer Society.

On May 18, 2013, they're doing it again. 24 more hours, 24 more shows. Some favorites from last year are returning as well as new classics and favorites. Look for more opportunities to Skype in and play, special surprise guests and more. We're looking to make this marathon bigger and better than ever. Our goal is $5,000 split between the American Cancer Society and the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Located in Baltimore, MD., the Kennedy Krieger Institute is an internationally recognized institution dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with pediatric developmental disabilities and disorders of the brain, spinal cord and musculoskeletal system, through patient care, special education, research, and professional training.

The first 10 people who donate $100 or more will recieve a custom Price is Right “Come on Down!” ringtone recording from Dave Walls, current Philadelphia Wings play-by-play announcer and former announcer of the Price is Right Live.

I'm reviving this thread because there is some interest here and we're ramping up our efforts. First, a bit of branding:

OK, some details and links.

1: We're doing 24 shows again in another 24 hours. This year, you'll be able to see us a little better. We'll have proper cameras and a better set, if you will.

Second: We've added a second charity: The Kennedy Krieger Institute here in Baltimore, MD. Kennedy Krieger Institute is an internationally recognized institution dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system through patient care, research, professional training, special education and community outreach programs. The money we raise will be designated to their autism department.

C: We've upped the stakes. Our goal is $5,000 and we'll be splitting the proceeds to the two charities by default. Anyone who wants their cash to go just to the ACS or just to Kennedy Krieger can designate so, but by default, we're splitting donations right down the middle. Hopefully we can get everyone to dig super deep and give more than ever. We have special incentives for those who donate, from playing live with us on air to limited edition T-shirts to a custom "Come on Down" ring tone and more.

Here are all our social media stuffs: http://www.twitter.com/24hourgsm is our Twitter feed. http://www.facebook.com/24hourgsm is our Facebook page. http://24hourgsm.pacdudegames.com is our microsite with donor info, lineup and more. And most importantly, http://gofundme.com/24hourgsm is our donation page which has a list of all our rewards and will allow you to donate.

Thanks, and we hope this is our best marathon yet!
—Cory

The 24-Hour Game Show Marathon is a tremendously fun event to watch unfold, and the money goes to a great cause. I'm happy to endorse it.

Can't wait for this.  I'll be there attending this year, and it's going to be great to raise money for needy charities, play some fantastic gameshows and not to mention finally meet some of my fellow gameshow programmers and developers after all these years...

"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

SO mad at "is it going to be rerun".
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

We're currently editing down all the shows to get rid of most of the fail and put them on YouTube! If you missed any of our shows the first time (except Family Feud, which we sadly lost to the sands of time), you'll be able to watch! We will still accept donations at http://www.gofundme.com/24hourgsm for the time being!
