Wow. That certainly was...um...something.
I know there are times when you take your kid seriously and other times when you don't, but I think Erin may need to swap hers around. She ignored her son when he was giving her the right answer for the peanut butter, thereby costing them a third roll...but when he wanted her to roll four cubes again instead of quitting with $4,000, then she listened to him.
There are moments when I merely dislike Drew, and then there are moments when I genuinely wonder what the hell is wrong with him. Mocking Jacquelyn for being overly polite to him before Plinko definitely falls into the latter category.
10 years from now, when his twins graduate from college, Marc will be able to pull out their recording of this episode and show everyone the time they yelled, "I want to put it down!" and talked over the host of The Price Is Right so they could argue over whose bedroom their prizes would go in if they won their pricing game, all on national television.
Sally was a brat. There is no excuse for some obnoxious kid chanting, "Go over! Go over! Go over!" while somebody else is spinning the Big Wheel, and the only thing more disgusting than the fact that it even happened is that her mother didn't immediately slap her across the face and march her out of the studio. My mother would have killed me if I'd pulled something like that. They should both be ashamed of themselves, and the fact that they ended up winning the Showcase, especially instead of Suzanne and Jacquelyn, is an absolute travesty.
If you go to a whole lot of extra effort to promote your big "We have kids on for the first time ever!!!" episode, and the most interesting thing about it ends up being that Balance Game got played first, you are probably doing something wrong.
I will say that Jacquelyn came off as mature for her age and seemed like a very nice person. She was the only kid who stood out for any positive reason, and I sincerely hope the rest of her life goes better than Plinko did.
Overall, though, this episode did not reflect well on the contestants, the kids, or the show itself. Mark Goodson is probably rolling over in his grave tonight.
