Missed this show the first time around. Just getting to see it now on the rerun, and the "go over" kid has had her moment.

To be honest, hey, kids are going to be more unpredictable than adults in what they say. OK, maybe she shouldn't have rooted for that out loud (for 2 seconds), but when no one's ever done that before, it doesn't always enter your mind that someone of any age might actually do that. That's not a defense of her, not an attack on maturity, either. I really don't think that one thing is enough to derail this as being a bad show. If nothing else, now that it has happened, you can discourage others from doing it. It's an easy enough fix. Leave the kid alone.

This show was simple, nice and fine. I'm neither here nor there on doing it again next year, but if they want to, you have a precedent now on how to improve it.

They actually aired the brat twice?

Wow.  Idiots.

This made me laugh out loud.  You just made my day, Steve (I purposefully overslept just to miss this episode).

Of course they had to show that again today.  :rollold:

Times like this that she should've gotten a time-out.

Funny enough, they re-aired a family-themed LMAD today that was a lot better than this.

Saw it for the first time today.  The way the show went generally, it seemed pointless to even have the kids there.  Good or bad prices aside, there were two instances in which the parent overriding the kid's decision potentially cost them the game.  This was blatantly obvious with Side By Side (set up for a win)... say what you will about Sally's poor sportsmanship here but the mom went against her and it ended up costing them.  Then with the disastrous peanut butter, the kid said "more" very convincingly and the mom had no hesitation in going against him... guess what.  I knew on the second roll they'd end up with a low dollar amount.

I may have missed the thread, but am I right in that they mic every single contestant who makes it onto the stage?  Sally's "go over, go over" may be a good example as to why this practice might not be the most prudent choice.

You didn't really think they would actually judge the quality of a rerun special, did you?

S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I was sort of hoping they'd have the sense to cut the audio the second time around.
