Not too terrible... except for Sheryl's voice.

Why did they air 6344K yesterday? Ton of overlap.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Now, yeah there's overlap from yesterday, which was 6344. This was, in my opinion, done on purpose.

Originally 6344 was supposed to get bumped out for this show, so the lineup for this show "replaced" 6344 pretty well, except CBS had to burp it up and move 6344 and bump off 6343....Oh well

As for todays show:

Nothing too good or bad, some people in chat today were Boo'ing The Talk models every step of the way... I didn't really have a problem with them. It was like they weren't even there sometimes. They didn't really get in the way or anything. Yeah, their modeling was less than amazing, but that is to be expected. The only problem I had was the 2nd Showcase, but that's really not a big deal.
"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

I'd imagine at least some of that has more to do with dislike for The Talk itself, rather than The Talk's guests being bad in comparison to other guests.  The Young and the Restless, I get.  The Talk, not so much.

TTM: Closer than yesterday.

Safe: Not bad.

NoT: Winnable, but wasn't.

Double: Easy.

RR: Great playing by Randall! I know that Sentra was $18,180 unlike the red one we saw last time (that one was $19,150).

SS: Also easy.

Showcases: I think Wendy knew Ethan overbid.

Much better show today w/ Julie (and today, Sheryl instead of Sharon) as a guest model.

Despite having to see two of the PGs again in one week (That's Too Much and Now or Then), it was still entertaining, despite one thing. But I'll get to that later.....

THE BAD NEWS:

TTM: The set-up was fairly easy, seeing that Nolan should've stopped at the $22K+ price. Seems we have two Nolans in one week, except this one didn't win his car.

NoT: I had a feeling that Caytlin wasn't gonna do good on this somehow. The Aunt Jemina Waffles looked too new to be "then".

THE GOOD NEWS:

Rat Race: That was great playing by Randall! Glad he got the Sentra for his wife on her B-Day!

Double Prices: Easy set-up and win for Geraldine!

Shopping Spree: That was pretty much a "gimme" set-up, so thank God Ethan didn't pick that ping-pong table.........Too bad in the end he got this:  :wotc:

Safe Crackers: When that was out, I really didn't even bother to know what was inside the safe. The only thing I know that the price was $650. So did Wendy! She had a SC win that had a trip to NYC and a hybrid car!

So far, the last time when The Talk hosts came to Price back in S39 (That was when Holly Robinson-Peete was still on the show), it wasn't that good. Today it was a well-deserved improvement and I thought Julie and Sheryl did pretty well. But when Sheryl screeched out "A Hybrid Car!!!!!" on Wendy's Showcase.........Yeesh! Love her and all that, but here's hoping she didn't shattered anyone's eardrums after that (Just kidding.  :P)

Overall, it was still enjoyable and it was great to see Gwendolyn back, too........

Actually, we saw Double Prices yesterday as well as the two you mentioned.

Safe Crackers always ends up on these moved-up shows, I swear...

So that makes it three of the games that were shown twice in one week, not two.

Does anyone else feel like it has been forever since we've seen Pathfinder?

For me, at least, this is a perfect example of how you don't notice how much you need something until it's gone. :-)

Nice wins on Safecrackers, Double Prices, and Shopping Spree & a great win on Rat Race! :-)

Drew said that That's Too Much is a tough game, and, IMO, it's difficulty lies in having to stop on the first price over the ARP of the car to win.  I think it would be easier if any price over the ARP of the car won insted of just the first one.  The name of the game would still work.

Did Sheryl really need to screech "A Hybrid Car!!" in the second showcase?  Speaking of the showcases, how is a showcase with a Jeep Patriot only$22,545? ???

Pretty good overall, IMHO.

That would make it a wee bit too easy.  Stopping at the tenth price would win every single time.

'Sides, That's Too Much was completely winnable today.

You didn't think that out at all, did you Cartboy?

The problem with TTM is 1) it's overplayed, 2) they insist on using tricky cars most of the time.

This season it has been played on-par (actually a bit less!) with seasons when Roger was Producing, not sure why you're complaining about it being "overplayed"....

Also, this Car was not as tricky as it could have been, thanks to adding in some options.

Another fairly average show, with some similar games to yesterday. I liked this lineup more than most I've seen in the past couple months, however - just switch the first 2 games and it would really be quite nice.

It was nice to pick up some wins today on what was a relatively open setup show save TTM. Even TTM has been getting set up easier lately, not being 3rd or 8th as much. It's still working to get losses too :) It's been a rough year for Rat Race so nice to see things beginning to pick up speed there. And, honestly guest modeling with minimal interaction is absolutely fine with me for cross-promotion that isn't annoying. The showcase even worked, EXCEPT for the ridiculously bad copy-read on "hybrid car". Seriously, with all the editing they do on this show, you couldn't redo that? Yeah, maybe you didn't want to hurt her feelings, but I'm sure she'd understand.

Timings:
That's Too Much (4) - 3:51
Safe Crackers (4.5) - 4:13
Now...or Then (5) - 4:28
Double Prices (3) - 2:50
Rat Race (6) - 5:37
Shopping Spree (4.5) - 4:00
Total (27): 24:59
