Tornado pre-emption
« on: May 21, 2013, 10:47:56 AM »
It looks like we may be pre-empted due to coverage of the tornado in Oklahoma City.

Might be Oklahoma affiliates only. My feed is still normal, for the time being.

My CBS feed is from Boston, and they have coverage on here.

All affiliates are being given the option to continue airing the live feed of CBS THIS MORNING, no matter what time zone they're in. Some may elect to stay with CBS News, given the magnitude of the destruction. But that option is not restricted to Oklahoma stations.

Boston is now showing TPiR.

Understandable this is an optional national pre-emption.

EDIT: Just switched back. Meh.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Well, I pretty much overslept, so while in live in Mississippi, I'm not sure if my affiliate (which is in New Orleans) pre-empted the show or not. Nevertheless, that was a horrible scene for the people in Oklahoma and my thoughts and prayers go out to them.

This.  I saw one pricing game (I won't spoil) and the start of the second item up for bids, but to give an idea of where it cut out for people viewing this afternoon, it made a hard jump into the special coverage right after the bidder who says, "$989".

And BTW, the soaps are on.  Glad they know what's important here.  I hate soaps.

WWL had The Price Is Right.  Which I suppose isn't too surprising, since they don't show CBS This Morning, period.

Here in Cumberland, Maryland we have 3 CBS Stations WUSA TV 9 Washington, WJZ-13 Baltimore, and WTAJ-10 Altoona. Altoona was the only one that shows regular programming. I just glad we have that station.

I live within WTAJ-10's range, but because of where I live and DirecTV's goofy setup, I get WHP-21 Harrisburg instead and thus I got tornado coverage while several of my neighbors on Comcast got the show today.  Thems the breaks.

The actual retail price is...

You're right.......They have a local morning show on WWL instead, but CBS This Morning is on WUPL (another N.O. channel), though, seeing that I have Charter. That's the only piece of CBS programming that WWL does not show, but it does show the "Weekend Edition" of it.

It was kind of strange here too (Albany NY station) - they were running the CBS this Morning feed until just a couple minutes before 11, cut off in the middle of a sentence to show a couple commercials and then went into TPIR (and stayed with it for the hour).

WCBS (NY) went right into Price for about a millisecond, first name was called down, then dropped it for CBS This Morning.
