You know, I think a fun balance between the jokes they're going for in Cover Up and the whole "cover up the wrong numbers" concept would be to make the fake prices ridiculous, like $00000 (We're not giving this car away for free!) or $99999 or $01337 or $09001 or $90078. You'd maintain the "cover up the wrong numbers" part while still making fun of how useless the bottom numbers are and also have some room for creativity. But that's just my thought (and I don't really have a problem with their just putting random stuff on the bottom, myself).

Anyways, fun show, especially with the Rudolph saga (it was all worth it when he one-upped his way on stage himself), and for Gas Money finally getting a tick in the W column! That was a surprisingly nice Gas Money setup, with the car price being neither an extreme nor deceptive. It was also interesting to see her forced to make a bailout decision with the most money possible without outright winning; she was definitely gutsy, and it paid off!

Now, what I was going to say was I believe Drew was highly unprofessional during the first half of the show... he broke one of the highest "commandments" of The Price is Right - that being, never humiliate a contestant. He did it to Pamela, Chelsea and Rudolph. . . . Then later, in the third one-bid, he started in on Chelsea. Bidding a dollar more in Contestant's Row is a part of the show and the way he harped on and on about how Chelsea did it to Rudolph was just terrible. It was so bad, I actually said outloud "Shut up, Drew."

Suppose a contestant has a price in mind for the car, say $14,375. Then they see the game come around on the turntable and see the wrong price revealed to be something like $26,345. Right away, they see two numbers they THOUGHT might be in the price proven to NOT BE in the price, so, it might affect their choices as to what numbers to choose to cover them up with. By just having a bunch of nonsense symbols there, perhaps there's a 3 in the third column and a 5 in the fifth column and choose them to cover up the nonsense symbols with and they would be WRONG.

You know, I'm not sure who flatulated your Rice Krispies, but this barrage of anti-show posts and new threads you've been posting as of late has gotten old, fast.

The "You're giving the contestants a HINT with the wrong price" is the most asinine argument I've ever heard. Your example, especially. Joe Blow having nailed down that hundreds digit in the price only to become perplexed when the game comes 'round. Unless you're a dealer, you just don't know that. You're still responsible for using the right numbers to fill in the price of the car.

And give me a break about Drew's "contestant bashing". It was painfully obvious he was joking, and if you really think he was trying to disrespect someone, you should get out of the house a little more. How many contestants has Bob chided over the years for comedic purposes? Lighten up.

If it were me, I'd convert the 2013 price to 1972 dollars and put that number on the bottom.

To the point that they were apologizing repeatedly? Few, if any.

No doubt Drew meant it as a joke - he is a comedian, after all. But, Roger had made it clear in that long interview that palmer7 did with him, one of the first edicts of The Price is Right was (and still should be)...

Another thing I explained (to Drew) was that we would never humiliate a contestant.

Making fun of a contestant, joking or not for the express purpose of getting a laugh to the point that she's saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" over and over again, is humiliating her.

As for the rest of your diatribe against me, frankly I don't care if you find my expression of frustration about certain things that are happening on the show to be tiresome and you are perfectly free to disagree with my assessment that removing the wrong price in Cover-Up is a mistake. You can disagree with me all you want just as freely as I am to post my opinions about what is happening onscreen. Don't stoop to the level of attacking me personally because you disagree with my opinions. This is pretty basic stuff that's been in place since day one of this board. I would have expected a bit more from you, CJB.
