They wanted the best of 2013, and they got it.  Certainly one of the most exciting shows they've had in years.

Excellent that Sheree is now the biggest winner in daytime history, but they shouldn't have played Gas Money for the Audi. They had time for 3 Strikes.

First, fantastic win in Gas Money! Very exciting and quite suspenseful.

Nice wins in the other games, and a tidy sum given away in Plinko.

They really made it feel like a "Best of" show with all of the clips.

Sheree absolutely, 100% earned the right to be the biggest winner in daytime history of The Price is Right! I didn't think there was any possible way Gas Money would be won with that setup, but it was. That was awesome. Really, really awesome!

Damn Plinko just had to ruin the perfect show, though. :-x

Lucky $even had a nice car with an easy setup!

Mike, this is the standard all specials should strive for. You don't have to offer a $150K+ car, but at least make the setups easy and the prizes better than those on average shows. This show lived up to the word "special" in all ways, so well done.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

Man this was an amazing show, and yet again Plinko has to automatically prevent a perfect show from happening. I don't care if people complain about the record being broken because Gas was completely fair & square. She was very lucky indeed, but so was Vickyann in a different way. I'm just glad they didn't play Hole in One for it. :P

P.S. Adam a few notes: IUFB4 was $567, and show winnings should be $290,399. I'm only picking nits because $297K+ is the record for most winnings in a show. :P

Kind of confused as to why Drew kept saying "all the games were won" when Plinko was not - the $10,000 slot was not even hit.  At least he didn't tarnish the phrase "perfect show" carrying on like that...

Also, Adam, Sheree didn't make it to the Showcase...

Man, I wish I could have seen the entire show. Today really was a special show!

I was disappointed to find out that Ani Khojasarian's 100K win in Pay the Rent wasn't shown today. Her win was definitely a candidate for this episode.

It appears that this is the first time we've seen the Xbox One on the show. Funny how since last Friday's episode, people were arguing about how the show was still offering Xbox 360s, and now they've moved on up the generation scale. :-)

Much congratulations to Sheree, as she has broken the record of daytime winnings that VickyAnn earned back in 2006 to become the biggest daytime winner of TPiR! (FYI, I picked the 152K price along with her during the last round of Gas.)

What a spectacular show this was to end 2013. This episode was the way to sum up the year's best moments, and it paid off.

Now, THIS is how you celebrate the Best Of 2013!!!

THE BAD NEWS:

Actually, nothing really............Except they didn't even mention Ani's first solid win on Pay The Rent. I was surprised that wasn't a highlight of this year as Schfifty was. And it looked like the XBOX ONE was shown for the first time. Honestly, I'll rather settle for a PS4 instead.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Plinko: I guess $2500 is a lot better than nothing for Robert.

THE GOOD NEWS (And there is a lot of good news):

Squeeze Play: A easy win for Amber!

Do The Math: That goes double for Jeffrey! And he won the "Tribute to Contestants" (not including Bryce on Golden Road ) Showcase!

Pick A Pair: And triple for Joseph!

Lucky $even: That was some great playing from Shalita! And she's also a Double Dollar Winner!! Too bad she didn't her SC, though..........

Gas Money: When it comes down to a win like this, I think Jeff Spicolli did it best when he said this:

And it was totally awesome! I never thought that they were gonna put a Audi in that game, because I thought that was screaming "Wipeout". As it turns out by Sheree's handling of the game, this wasn't too hard of a setup, because I was right about the first tag ($157,300) being avoided. I was both shocked and happy to know that Sheree won that..........which made her the biggest winner in daytime!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

It's funny how much of a letdown last week was, only to be redeemed with this special..........It has really washed away the horror and shame from last week and this is truly one of the best shows I have seen in my life! I think this was Mike's way of saying "I'm sorry" for passing off the two terrible specials (X-Mas Eve and Kids) and today really did paid off! Although, there were no soap stars being models (Yay!), they should've at least add another current model for this episode, like Amber, Manuela, or Rob. I'll even settle for Danielle Demski. At least, try to bring back a 3-model show..............

Anyway, this was a great way to end 2013!!! Now onto 2014..............

After thousands of complaining posts, I have to compliment them when they get something right. And for once, this was a heavily themed show that got nearly everything right. I liked the clips from the year, and I liked the fact that the majority of pricing games and prizes picked had some significance to the year. I also really loved the showcases - best showcase themes they've put together in a while and it was executed well. Especially a nice touch to have one focusing on "best contestants" - glad they're realizing that's important, too. I feel like this show was originally designed to shove the prizes in our face, and I like it a lot better when the best of EVERYTHING, including the prizes, is focused on.

Oh, and I guess there were a few things won today. You can chalk that up to good setups, good luck and good contestants. $2,500 is NOT a win in Plinko by any stretch of the imagination though - I refuse to acknowledge that no matter what the TPIR Twitter may say :) Still, 5/6 with a double dollar and a luxury car win is pretty awesome stuff. Unlike Dream Car week setups, they really did not want the Audi won this time. I thought the setup was as reasonable as could be expected given it was in Gas Money - hard enough most people weren't winning, but easy enough to give a shot. I just hope we don't see weekly Bag-Path shows to make up for it now :) It helped that Sheree was a genuinely excited contestant who you could easily root for. Golden Road may have been better for a car with that price tag, but it certainly was a shock to see that come up in the second half. A very enjoyable show that came close to breaking the S35 premiere record for most winnings in a show, and obviously broke the contestant record. I'm just glad it feels earned and not overly manipulated, because this was well put together all around.

Wow. Just wow.

I didn't want the record to be broken with a puffball Rent setup or an easy 50/50 setup in 1/2 Off. I wanted the record to be earned and my goodness, it was earned. That was one of the best wins in years. That was an incredibly tough setup. Literally, throwing darts. The fact that she pulled that out was nothing short of amazing. Great television.

So remember...The Price is Right has officially decreed it. ANY amount of money in Plinko is called a win.

(Or perhaps since this show was just so good, they didn't want to detract from it by mentioning Plinko as the red herring)

Great show. Great way to close out the year. They did a good job here.

New record. First double dollar of the season. Good clips to look back on. This season holds promise if they can keep this kind of producing up.

Side note: I don't know if Adam forgot or if he's discontinued it, but yay(!) for no zoom in shot on Do The Math!
