I guess Swing was right.........

THE BAD NEWS:

Bargain Game: I knew that the TV was the better bargain (since it was a 3-D TV). Tough break for Paul.

Don't Pick The Cheap Price Gas Money: I had a feeling that $19,900 price was a little suspicious. Too bad that Christopher picked that.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Cover Up: About time Chad win this! The "duck" theme was pretty decent.

Shell Game: "PERFECTO" by Lisa!!! She really did played that like a pro, all the way to the end!

Make Your Move: That was a easy setup and win for Margaret!

Side-By-Side: Not only she won the game, but she also got engaged by her boyfriend and won her Showcase...............Good things do come in threes!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

While we did have a few questionably bad shows this week, this one really ended on a high note. All-in-all, a good show today. It also was nice that the Wedding March song was played for Morgan.

Cu: Nice to see the easier than normal setups continue on this game & it's won today!

SG: The increased cash bonus' won for the first time!

MYM: The Left-to-Right Trick works.

GM: Christopher audienced out of the game in three picks.

SBS: Morgan wins the home office, gets engaged & goes all the way in the Showcase! In my book, she's the biggest winner of the week (though her total winnings don't reflect that).

Only because most Fiats are cheap.

And it's not "Don't Pick the Cheap Price". It's "Don't Pick the RIGHT Price" (which is not always the lowest one, but more often than not a multiple of 5).

My two cents:

Bargain Game: Tricky.
Cover-Up: Great win!
Shell Game: What a win! Finally, someone wins the cash bonus!
Make Your Move: Good win!
Gas Money: I had a feeling $19,900 was the price, given the fact that it was a Fiat 500L.
Side-by-Side: Good win, even though I thought that home office was $5,060. And congratulations to Morgan, not only for winning her game and a Jeep in the Showcase, but also her engagement!

According to TPIR stats, the bonus in Shell Game has been won an astounding six times in a row when a contestant won all four chips.  A perfect 6/6 in the Carey era which is 1:4096 odds!

Either I'm misreading this, or this is incredibly wrong.  Wasn't this the first time this has happened?

No, this is not the first time the bonus has been won. But yes, it is wrong. This is the first time the *revised/changed/new* bonus was won, but the "old" bonus was 5/5 in the Carey era (when all 4 SP's were won) but earlier this season someone got all 4 SP's but didn't pick the right shell for the bonus, so now we are 6/7 when getting all 4 SP's correct.

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

This is the first time the current bonus was won. The $500 bonus has been won before in the Carey era.

Either way, that stat can't be correct, unless I'm misreading it as well. The last time someone one all four chips, earlier this season, they did not win the bonus.

Fun show. Odd lineup.

Why does the show not like Magic #? And I miss 2 for 1 in all its hideousness.

Great moment with Morgan and her groom to be. Very nice that she won the showcases and nice of the show to play the Wedding March.

Right after being selected as a contestant and attending the show, this is on my list of TPIR dreams. And it was fulfilled.

Bargin Game: Probably my favorite 2 prize game. Tough setup. I would have won this. The bigger TVs are still pretty expensive even though the average ones aren't.

Cover Up. Suspenseful ending with an exciting win. Always great to see a car won.

Shell Game: This is one of my favorite games and the pictures used in the prize description were beautiful. Great to see a great trip and cash won. Interesting to note that the winning selection for the cash bonus was also the first shell a chip was placed by.

Make Your Move: Nice win of some nice prizes. That popcorn maker was super cool.

Gas Money: This game offers great prizes but is so rarely won. Too bad this snapped a 3 game winning streak.

Side by Side: A fantastic prize and great to see it won.

Showcases: Both showcases had outstanding prizes including automobiles. I'd have been happy whichever showcase was won.

Overall. Between a good pricing game lineup, some great prizes,a winning record, and a nice showcase won, today was a very good show. A very good end to what had been a bad week.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

I can't decide what bothered me more about the marriage proposal -- the fact that they clearly had to edit the show to include it, or the fact that it looked like it was something that was pre-planned with the staff.  Regardless, it made the moment seemed contrived, which isn't really something you should be aiming for with a marriage proposal.

On the upside, Shell Game was played perfectly for the first time in ages!  That was awesome.
"Every game is somebody's favorite." -- Wise words from Roger Dobkowitz.
