Yeah....this lineup didn't do anything for me today.  Especially Cover Up and Money Game for cars.   Two bland games like that should never be played in the same show, even if they are both won.  Today's Cover Up gimmick did get a laugh out of me, though.

Just 3 notes for today...

Coming or Going's setup palindrome amused me. (7455547)

I missed you Secret "X", welcome back buddy.

Cover Up was nicer than it has been lately.

It's about time they brought back Amber on the show today.

This isn't her first appearance of Season 42.
"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

Well, the lineup was.............not good, but Amber's back today, so.................. :-D

THE BAD NEWS:

IITB: The batteries really did in Jade, which wasn't too surprising since they weren't that cheap.

Money Game: That was too tricky. 'Nuff said.

C-U: I thought that the gimmick with the Price theme was a good try and all, but those were actually four notes at the beginning, not five............Unless they were trying to use the "losing horns" if they thought that Cherry was gonna lose, which she did. Either way, unless the next gimmick is to put in the models' faces (since there are 5 models in the show, and I don't know what's the holdup with that), I think they're running out of ideas with this............Just bring back the wrong numbers.

And when Aisha was modeling the Scion, I can't tell if she's trying to be a extra on The Walking Dead or if she's trying to impersonate Tawny Kitaen in the "Here I Go Again" video by Whitesnake.

THE GOOD NEWS:

CoG: Looks like the whole "Trips: Going - Everything Else: Coming" thing no longer implies. At least Elmar won it today!

ORP: Those prices of the Frisco and Lake Tahoe trips really fooled me. Good job by James!

Secret X: Aaron had some good luck today, getting a $500 bonus, winning S-X, and his SC!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Not a very good lineup, with C-U and Money together like that. I'd rather have Hole-In-One for one of the car games today. Aisha did OK, and her modeling the hot tub was a win. So I guess for some of us, we don't have to worry about celebrities acting like Price models...................But wait, Celebrity Week is coming up, isn't it?

Considering Aisha Tyler was the guest model & the presumed goal was some network synergy, you woulda thought they'd use the five faces of the hosts of "The Talk" for the Cover Up gag.

I tossed this out as a joke a long time ago in another thread, but now that guest models are becoming a recurring (and often train-wrecky) thing, I really wouldn't mind seeing RuPaul show up as a guest model now--because she'd treat the gig seriously and probably knock it out of the park.

Now that you mentioned it, that was a missed opportunity right there..................Even though, the gag itself is starting to get stale.

C-U: I thought that the gimmick with the Price theme was a good try and all, but those were actually four notes at the beginning, not five............Unless they were trying to use the "losing horns" if they thought that Cherry was gonna lose, which she did.

The motif stems from the regular theme of the show which doesn't use the fifth (losing) tone.

Also, I highly doubt they would pre-call a loss - publicly, at that - by showcasing the losing horns.  Come on.  You know better.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Just saw a clip of it on youtube, I only saw four notes there myself (with the first card having the clef and time signature), not sure what the issue is... though shouldn't there have been a flat in front of the clef? (I THINK the main theme is in F major, which calls for a single flat in the key signature)

Correct; it was just missing the key signature (and the bar between the pick-up and the first measure, but I guess the space between the cards is close enough).

Hey Secret "X". Go hang out with vader. Ever thought of retirement? (I am not a fan of the game.)  ;)

If we must have guest models, I hope we have guest models in the future who take things more seriously, like the young lady from Y&R and the SI model. We already have two "comedians" on the show regularly; Aisha's comic attempts/antics were irritating to me.
