2/7/14 -- RESULTS
« on: February 07, 2014, 06:39:49 PM »
As I mentioned earlier, there were two CBS spoilers in regards to today's episode.  TPIR posted a clip of Mariah arriving on stage on YouTube.  The unique Door 2 camera angle was a 1/2 Off spoiler.  The other spoiler came from Manuela's Twitter feed.  She posted a picture of herself during the week that today's episode was taped.  In that picture was a part of one of the More or Less price stands.

So if you caught both of those spoilers and automatically assumed that both Half and MoL would be lost, then you were guaranteed 4 MPs regardless of slotting and could safely push ALL-IN.

Even with those spoilers, Adam didn't make the rest of the lineup easy.  All key games were played in the second half.  Dice Game scored $10,000 for four players.  Side by Side scored $15,000 for three players.  Check-Out scored $25,000 for two players.

Now let's get to those medals... and we have a couple of historic medal moments this week!

I'm giving out THREE bronze medals today!  That's right... we have a three-way! :-D Tie, that is.  All three of these players scored 10 MP/30 CP.  All three of these players picked Half (rS/rR), Push (rS/rR), and MoL (wS/rR).  They are thepriceis_J, UniquePerspective, and wildbill0962!  This is the first medal of the season for both tpi_J and UP.

The runner-up put together a score of 12 MP/34 CP with picks of Half (rS/rR), Push (rS/rR), MoL (wS/rR), and Out (rS/wR).  That was Kev347!

Now... hold on to your hats, ladies!  This week's winner went 5-FOR-6 with a score of 13 MP/46 CP.  Those picks of Half (rS/rR), Push (rS/rR), MoL (wS/rR), Side (wS/rR), and Out (wS/wR) also produced a "4" bonus, as the game was locked up when Side showed up.  The gold medal goes to...

ME!

AFTER 9 YEARS, I FINALLY WON MY FIRST FPG!

Too bad I don't smoke anymore, because this would have been the perfect time for me to light up a Black & Mild.

See you next week!

Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Man, I was POSITIVE I won. Go figure the other person who took C/O also happened to have Side. Congrats Firey! Just be happy C/O was lost :) (if it were won I would have edged you 14/46 to 14/44)

Is the channel "priceisright"?  Did they take the clip down?  After reading this, I went to that channel to try to find the clip because I'm curious to see how the angle revealed that the game would be 1/2 Off?

It's "thepriceisright". Link

No, their official channel is simply called "The Price Is Right".

The show doesn't use this Door 2 camera angle for any other game besides 1/2 Off.  All other Door 2 pricing games use this angle.

Slotting Side correctly saved my FPG somewhat.  I guess I need to starting paying attention more when it comes to spoilers - 1/2 Off alone killed two of my picks (Grand and Cliff).

Probably checking this would help too. Even without knowing the spoiler Grand Game was played the 2 weeks before this tape week and 1/2 Off skipped both those weeks so it was more "due".

Oh, I do use that site.  In retrospect, you're right, Half would've been the smarter play even not knowing the spoiler.  I was just feeling Cliff though and that we'd start seeing it more, so I went with Grand as the casher.

The small prize stand for 1/2 Off sits outside of Door 2. Where it sits either blocks or obstructs the area that is captured by the camera normally. So, they move the camera a bit more to the outside to accommodate that. That is way that angle is a dead giveaway to 1/2 Off.

That's my guess.

I was close to picking Check-Out, but I wanted Now or Then to show more. Bah. I'll definitely take a bronze though. :)
