2/14/14 -- RESULTS
« on: February 14, 2014, 07:03:52 PM »

Two SP games on a special episode... and neither one is Plinko?!  Dirty pool, Adam... dirty pool.

And you were probably calling "dirty pool", too, if you didn't pick either Pick-a-Pair or Squeeze Play.

Secret "X" actually did show up on the same episode as PAP.  To the three who went for it--Kev347, OneBidTris, and Punchboard91--goes $15,000.

Side by Side makes back-to-back FPG appearances.  It helped me to my historic win last week, but it's Chad1787 and ShatterMySoul99 who are benefiting from it this week.  They each get $25,000.

But the award for "Ballsiest Pick of the Season" has to go to brand-new FPG player Tanzerey8.  Not only was he the only person to pick Temptation... but HE PICKED IT FOR A WIN ON THE DAY THAT IT'S ACTUALLY WON!  The only person who has ever done that before is SteveGavazzi... but that's because he wants everybody to win.

How did I follow up my historic win from last week?  With a solid fourth-place finish and a tie with vadernader.  I think I'm finally figuring out how to play this damn game.

There is no bronze medal winner this week.  Second time this has happened in three games.  There is another tie for silver!  Both of these players scored 8 MP/44 CP, but they did it with different games.  One did it with PAP (rS/rR) and X (rS/rR)... the other did it with PAP (rS/rR) and Squeezy (rS/rR).  They are Kev347 and thepriceis_J!

But our winner scored 10 MP/40 CP with picks of PAP (rS/rR), Squeezy (rS/rR), and X (rS/wR).  That was...

Punchboard91!

See you next week!

Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

The picture just about sums it up. Why the heck did Plinko not show up when it was perfectly acceptable for a show like today's? Same goes for 3 Strikes, even though it's a car game.

Also, what does (rS/rR) mean?

Right slot and right result... that which scores 4 Main Points.

The only reasoning I can think of is that they didn't want to repeat cashers on back to back years. (They did Plinko on Valentine's in 2013)
"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

I'm surprised I was that lucky. When I saw Squeeze Play for a car I thought I was doomed, but I knew Temptation's time was still coming when it showed.

There was so, so much to love about this lineup.
  • Pick-A-Pair first, for only the second time in almost 32 years.  If not for the spoiler, this wouldn't have been chosen by anybody.
  • Squeeze Play for a car, and avoiding playing Lucky $even or One Away.
  • 1/2 Off being played twice in between playings of Plinko, and Plinko taking off only its second full week of the season.
  • Playing 2 SP games on one show.
Well done, Adam.
