I just got home from my doc's appointment. I do however, need to rest a bit as I was sedated. Recap should be up late afternoon-early evening.

I personally would like to read a recap written while you're still slightly sedated.

Sounds like Drew every other day.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

The opening is still considerably too flashy and distracting. "Yes, we do not in fact suck! Look at all the pretty things we can do with graphics!" Perhaps the copy on YouTube had an audio/video misalignment, but did the camera actually pan to the first contestant called just after the name was said, but before that person even reacted?

Drew still considers the studio and home audiences as different sets of individuals, continues to have George introduce the prizes, and continues to do the "1...2...3..." despite there being considerably-better ways to ask for price reveals.

While the $500 Perfect Bid bonus is always wonderful to see handed out, there were really only two bids that could have applied to in this case...although since the One-Bid prize was a pair of digital cameras, I suppose the low bids are excusable. The same could be said for the later espresso machine, although why would one bid $1 shortly after someone else bid $350?

-1 Right Price: "I've got an idea, George, let's just show her the prize." ...You mean "prizes", and also that is quite lazy.
-Switcheroo: ...That car introduction was atrocious, as were the car cue and the slightly meandering explanation Drew gave for the game, again trivializing the other four prizes.
-Range Game: "Plus. One relaxing massage each!" How is anyone supposed to price that, particularly within a $600 range that begins in the $11,000 region, even with a $150 coverage? Further, this may just be the video I saw, but has the dark-green strip become pitch-black?
-Pocket Change: Tough loss, I suppose.
-Squeeze Play: At least a dining room is a reasonable, practical prize...even if it is nearly $10,000.
-Hi-Lo: See, Drew? When you do not succumb to an immature desire to tamper with the groceries, the contestant actually has a decent chance of winning!

Showcase #1 seemed to have a decent theme of "Ways to have fun on two wheels", only to almost immediately go to a car. As for the second Showcase...Lake Mead? I know it is near Vegas, but there has to be somewhere else that says "Spring fever" better than that...and a Chevy Spark. (Speaking of which, I would blame its near-$30,000 value on the fact a houseboat was involved.)

Finally, this is apropos to nothing, but has anyone ever come up with a drinking game where one must chug every time George says "plus" in a trip description?

The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)

Honestly I have always thought Range Game for Trips over $10,000 is pretty unfair (same goes with Squeeze Play) simply because it seems ridiculous to ask someone to distinguish between a $11,836 trip to Bali and a $12,036 trip to Bali. (Or something similar) I don't think the 2 massages are what is to blame here.

Well, I guess this is the best we can get to end the week.

THE BAD NEWS:

Range Game: I was surprised to see how slow the range was going up............I don't know if that was meant for a loss or not, but that was a bit lazy on the production crew's account. At least, James won a Spark (SMH.........Come on, Mike. Enough with these sub-compact cars! Bring out a Corvette, Camaro, or something cooler than that! You can only put out a car like that for so long that some people would get sick and tired of it.).

PC: With a price like that, that wasn't meant to be won, either. And it also did more harm than good that Tracy had a bad case of bad luck.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Switcheroo: I should've known that there was gonna be another 1 for the car.

THE GOOD NEWS:

ORP: Good win by Samantha.

Squeeze Play: Total "gimme"..........but good job by Maureen.

Hi-Lo: I was afraid that this losing streak wasn't gonna end. Good that Daniel broke it.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

3 wins but it sure was a boring way to end the week.

Drew really should rush-start contestants in Switcheroo (and Bonkers). A good way is a classic, good, predictable and steady, "Three... two... one... go!" or "Ready... set... go!" Don't give a surprising, rushed-off, and unpredictable "Threetwoonego!" Not that I think a proper reveal would have helped. The knife was the only thing that even had a small chance of starting with a 1 besides the car. I guess the silver lining in the cloud here would be that there was no need for Drew to mention the possibility of doing nothing after the first 30 seconds, thus no chance for him to forget that part and get it wrong.

Interesting, as normally people seem to want Drew to rush contestants. I agree with you though, a slower three two one would be best.

I guess the silver lining in the cloud here would be that there was no need for Drew to mention the possibility of doing nothing after the first 30 seconds, thus no chance for him to forget that part and get it wrong.

Funny you mention that, considering the last time the game was played Drew did not "forget" that part, although even if he does forget it does that make it "wrong"? The way I see it - it's a waste of time considering it's only in contestants best interests to make some change if they only have 0, 1, 2, 3 right. (That doesn't mean they will execute properly and change the right ones...) It's like having 2 prizes right in Race Game and just quitting, what's the point?

/All that being said, I feel like this topic always gets brought up every single time Switcheroo is played even in the case of 0 right! It's kinda beating a dead horse, just like when people complain about Temptation's "birthday" gifts every time it is played.

I do remember that. I was just more or less sprinkling a bit of cup-half-full sarcastic humor onto a weak Switcheroo playing. In any case, that previous playing didn't necessarily establish a trend. We'll see.
although even if he does forget it does that make it "wrong"? The way I see it - it's a waste of time considering it's only in contestants best interests to make some change if they only have 0, 1, 2, 3 right. (That doesn't mean they will execute properly and change the right ones...)
It's very common for exactly that to happen--failure to execute properly. A contestant unsure of the block positions with so-and-so number of blocks right is just as likely to make things worse than he is to make things better. A contestant that's not sure on how to proceed might be better served by leaving things alone. As I've said before, a confused contestant might think switching is compulsory or failing to do so may constitute forfeiture of the prizes if that option isn't stated, and I'm sure it's an important option given what has happened, what can happen, and how sure a contestant is or isn't of the prices. Bailouts are common in games, and while this isn't a bailout per se, the function is the same--the contestant isn't sure of what changes should be made, if he's right, or if he's going to be right, so taking something home might be better than possibly taking nothing in the wake of having made possibly erroneous choices.
It's like having 2 prizes right in Race Game and just quitting, what's the point?
Race Game is not quite the same situation. You have a running clock where you can gauge multiples times how many you have right. If you've got around half a minute with two right, that's plenty of time to make some strategic changes to shuffle stuff around and still get more progress reports from the jukebox.
/All that being said, I feel like this topic always gets brought up every single time Switcheroo is played even in the case of 0 right! It's kinda beating a dead horse, just like when people complain about Temptation's "birthday" gifts every time it is played.
Well, like I said, I wasn't really trying to complain or make a point about Switcheroo. I was just trying to find a positive (even if a humorous or sarcastic one) in an otherwise uninteresting Switcheroo playing by hanging a lampshade on a common statement made about this game.

I'm quite surprised: Drew actually used the word "prices" before the contestant started filling them in during Switcheroo. Let's see if he keeps it up.

Such a good start in Pocket Change. And then...  boy, did the contestant's luck change.

Showcase #1 seemed to have a decent theme of "Ways to have fun on two wheels", only to almost immediately go to a car.

That was really awkward to me as well. Perhaps just say "Ways to have fun on wheels", and perhaps offer more than two prizes?
