2006 NBA Playoffs
« on: May 08, 2006, 12:12:39 AM »
Everybody figured that San Antonio-Dallas would be a great series, and sure enough, it got off to an exciting start today. Detroit-Cleveland, meanwhile, wasn't so exciting. I don't think it'll be a sweep, but the Pistons should take it in five; six if Cleveland's lucky. Also, how about the Lakers choking? Logikreader called it...

Such a shame. That busted my bracket a bit, so I'm not too happy. Plus, I wanted them to do well. :-(

Yea, me too Heels.  -- but, hey, the Lakers had a good year and next year we might even have KG for Lamar!

(Oh btw, Phoenix fans and players, way to class it up.  Running up the score on the 7th seed in the 4th quarter?  Pathetic.  You'll pay for that, oh yeah.)

Whoa! If you get KG, that would be nuts. The Lakers would be back to their dominant ways for sure.

I expected all the teams with home court to advance to the semis.  Yesterday's Spurs/Mavs game was a nail-biter (predict Spurs in 7).  Can't say that about yesterday's Pistons/Cavs game (predict Pistons in 5).  As for the others, I predict Heat over Nets in 7, and Phoenix over the Clippers in 6.

That Clippers game... was as heartbreaking as it can get.

*shakes head*

I need a hug. It's not over yet, it takes four to win.

I'm rooting for you guys. Sounds like it was a good game, but I was long in bed by the time it was over. Stupid time difference!

I just hope it's not a Heat-Pistons rematch of last year. If it is, I'm on Marc's side. Miami's due for a title.

Holy cow! How about the Cavs? They've got a shot at a shocking upset Friday night after beating Detroit 86-84 in Game 5 tonight! Wow, I hope they can pull it off.

I'm the resident Wizards fan around here... Gilbert Arenas missed two game-winning opportunities (game 3 and 6) against the Cavs.  Stupid Damon Jones closed out the Wizards on our home floor again.

Speaking of the Cavs, they're probably the Heat's best chance to get to the finals so long as the Pistons don't come back.  But they won't win the finals - Pat Riley is cursed.

No, I said it would be Detroit in five, maybe six... but wow, was I wrong. My apologies to the Cavaliers. If they advance, I'm rooting for them all the way. LeBron is the man. I know I said I'd root for the Heat, but if the Cavaliers win, I've got to go for them.

Rasheed's "guarantee" isn't looking so hot right now is it?  :-D

Once his guarantee of a Game 4 win fell through, he should've kept his mouth shut. But no, he had to keep talking, and now his team must win two straight games to stay alive. Doesn't he realize that when he says that stuff, it just pumps the Cavaliers up even more? I know it'd pump me up for sure.

Jim Rome on his radio show today that he has never seen a team (Detroit) look so invincible (pulverizing of Milwaukee and 1st two games against Cleveland) and then look so lost (last 3 games).
