Results-05/26/2006 LAST CHANCE FPG
« on: May 26, 2006, 03:57:44 PM »
Well kids, there were a lot of first today.

Like a record number of new e-mail addresses for players, like the first time the game runner himself didn't submit and one more first which I'll leave as a surprise for later.  It's a WHOPPER.

Let's get on with the Top Three.

In 3rd Place, with a final score of 10MG / 50CP, taking
Plinko (rS/wR), Money (rS/rR) and Dubba (rS/rR) was

jhc2010!!!  WTG!!

But guess what, those guys have no idea do they?

Forget Million Dollar added weeks, forget the Schmolik Fire Sale Bonus, and FORGET ANY LTZ BONUSES.  What happened this week was a modern-day FPG first and I felt I had no choice but to make the decision I did.

First, let me refer you to the Rules Thread regarding the awarding of any ISTD Bonuses to be awarded:

IN THE EVENT OF A TIE for the "Top" scorer, then ALL PEOPLE ELIGIBLE WILL RECEIVE THE BONUSES to which they are entitled according the payout table in the Rules for 2005-06.

Why do I post this here you ask?  Because there were two games played today picked by only ONE PERSON.  No problem right?  Just award the same binus to each of thsoe players Willy, stoopid!.

BUT WHAT IF BOTH GAMES, PICKED BY ONLY ONE PERSON, WERE PICKED BY THE SAME PERSON!!!!!

THAT KIDS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED!  Nick was the only player to pick both Coming or Going AND Barker's Markers.  After careful reading of the rules, and realizing that I never dreamed it could ever even be a possibility, I had no choice but to award Nick a DOUBLE ISTD BONUS.

He may not have placed well this week considering those two big selections, but the sheer amount of points alone just might get him in to the big dance.

Here's the final board for the week.

Did you make it?  Time will tell won't it!

I'm sure the suspense is killing some of you....

One interesting fact:

On a Plinko Friday, with 31 submissions, only 17 players selected Plinko.

Has anyone else noticed that sullim4 has been in the top ten for like the past five weeks? He's made a damn nice charge over the last month. I have to take my cap off to him.

And I did NOT need jhc2010 jumping over me this week. I have enough problems at the top now with Gavazzi and Voltron and sullim.

For a week that meant so much to so many people, it was a pretty tame lineup, though. I tried to outguess that damn weasel and couldn't. I had better snap to next week because it's serious time now.
We'll think of a signature. Don't worry.

You know, I really have to draw up my FPG picks at 8:15 A.M. more often. :-)

Yeah, after the Dob screwed around playing Coming or Going first, Barker's Marker$ fourth, and Money Game fifth (all of which I had, only in different slots) and adding on the fact that the outcome of all of those was just the opposite of what I predicted, AND adding on that he threw in Double Prices out of nowhere, a 7 MG finish was pretty disappointing for managing to get four of the games.

But I would have thought more people would have picked Barker's Marker$ and Coming or Going, considering they were both so due.  Nevertheless, I'm glad y'all didn't. :-)

So, the Dob screws up my MG score by slotting everything crazy, yet I double attack with a double ISTD bonus.  All I can say is fair game, Dob, fair game.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

I'll take fifth, but I originally had Plinko second and Ten Chances third.  When I discovered that I didn't have a GP game in there, out went Ten Chances, and in went Let 'em Roll, but instead of just swapping the two, I tried to outguess the Dob and put Plinko third and LER second.  Long story short, had I just swapped TC and LER, I would've won this thing with 14 MG.

Oh well, at least I picked all my results correctly, and I was glad to see the Friday playing of Double Prices is alive and well (except for the 12th, the taping I was at).  Damn the Dob for putting it sixth instead of fourth though.

Wow... FINALLY, my very first win!!

I almost did this too since Pl!nko! has been played second and third equally this season.  Also, LER is MUCH more common in the 2-slot than the 3-slot being played third only one other time this season.

I had the right idea this week to pick a rare MP game for a potential Dobstopper.

Unfortunately, I picked Poker over Markers.  :-(  I also tried Triple Play and Joker, neither of which struck ISTD gold.  :-(  I think I can safely assume that I will not be in the Goodson Cup in this, my first FPG season.

Congrats, Nick, on stopping Roger TWICE!  :-)
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

If I may I'd like to nominate myself for the hard luck award for the week....

I slotted Plinko and Let 'em Roll correctly, back to back, yet blunders on the results only netted me 4MG total out of those two picks.  Add an incorrect slotting of DP and the greenhorn who didn't know how to play Money Game, and I'm batting a whopping .000 on the 4MG bonus.

Thanks for the props but it's going to do little good.  jhc has been as hot as a fire in a forest.  If I had to guess I'd say he's leaped ahead of me on the leaderboard.

Speaking of which, when is that being released?!?

From what I've been keeping track of the last few weeks, it seems almost everyone in the Goodson Cup is still in striking distance in $$$ - including the dob who is probably still in the lead even after three straight $0 weeks.

It's still anyone's game because the dob only has to be stopped once in two or three weeks to give anyone a chance to overtake the lead.  But this year's Cup will be mine... I'm still bitter I finished 2nd last year to a fluke champion.

*whistles innocently*  Fluke?  Just because I can't slot for crap this year?  (That, and focusing more on schoolwork than FPG...)

...yeah, I don't know what happened this year.  I can explain the donut today though...I intentionally tried to get a Dob-stopper, not so much for the sake of my own score, but to try to help the rest of you who still have a chance to catch the Dob.  That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Well, now I'm glad that Steve won the Fire Sale Bonus last week, or else I'd be spouting fire after going over the mark by 1 CP!

I dunno if I'll be around for the Goodson Cup this year.  I had a good last few weeks, but my sense is that I'd need an alternate's spot to make it.....I'm crossing my fingers.

This might have been the first time I didn't pick Plinko on a "Plinko Friday". Whole lotta good that did me.
