Wow, what a show.  Great contestants, great game play.  And did Drew take a hosting pill?  His hosting of the More or Less segment was the best I've seen, from the clear, efficient explanation of the rules to the build up at the end.  Glad I saw this one today.

THE BAD NEWS:

OA: Tough break for Charlie..........I'd would've gotten wrong myself, too.....Especially with the last number.

1/2 Off: Well, Ruth didn't get the 10 grand on that (despite getting the $1000 bonus), but she did win it on the big wheel.........The "Word Of The Day" is "irony", but it's a good kind of irony. And she also won a FRATS.

THE GOOD NEWS:

CoG: Was not expecting that from a Hawaiian trip.........That could've gone either way, considering the setup. Good job by Adam!

MoL: I would've lost on the computer.......That was tricky. Same goes with the car. Superb job by Donna!

P-A-P: Good thing Rickey picked the chili mix and the PB for the win!

Switch?: I could tell that the accessories and the sauna needed to be switched from a mile away.......So did Hollice!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Good 4/6 show today.......And Ruth was the highlight of the day. And we got a show where all the IUFBs where under $1000. Drew didn't do a bad job hosting, but doing that hypnotist act? Nah....

Nice mention of Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island in regards of the title for SC2, Adam.

CoG: Tough call, but it was won.

1/2 Off: I had a bad feeling Ruth lost when she picked #11.

MoL: Easiest setup of the season to me!

PaP: Wow, chili's as expensive as peanut butter.

S?: Other easy game of the today, IMO.

OA: It would've been nice if Charlie had gone w/ $17,676 first (but that wasn't too likely).

Showcases: Not sure why Ruth didn't bid on the Mustang- she would've been fine w/ the bid she used on the other one.

Very good show today.

Wow, it seems like the crickets outnumber the members here in the recap thread this week.

Anyways, too bad Ruth didn't win the $10,000 in 1/2 Off, but as PriceBusterXL mentioned, it was interesting to see her turn around and win her $10,000 in the Showcase Showdown. I'm glad she won, too, she just seemed like an all-around sweet lady in my opinion.

Nice to see More or Less won.

I would have lost Coming or Going.

Pretty good show today I would say.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

What an absolutely great show today! One of my favorite games, more or less, was played & won. Ruth & I had apparently lost on 1/2 off. I'm glad she won the $10,000 and also won her showcase! over $41,000 won by Ruth for an hour's worth of excitement, and a boatload of other great stuff? Not shabby, not shabby at all! Great job Ruth!!!!!

Coming or Going: Nice win of a nice Hawaii trip. The setup was very difficult for a 50-50 game but I would have won too mostly because without having any gut feel or obvious choice I'd have picked the more expensive price for Hawaii.

1/2: Today's playing shows why a 4th set of SPs needs to be added. That was completely unfair! This is precisely why I hate 1/2 off in spite of it having numerous strong points.

More or Less: Segment of the show! The dishwasher, bicycle and computer were all setup to won. Clearly Mike wanted that Chrysler 200 LX to be played for. The Chrysler itself however was a tricky setup (as More or Less cars tend to be.) and I honestly don't know what guess I'd have made if I were playing.

Showcase Showdown 1: I very rarely comment on showcase showdowns but I'm really glad today's 1/2 off contestant won the $10000 on the bonus spin. She got so badly screwed by that 1/2 off game I was really rooting for her to win money on that bonus spin.

Pick a Pair: The chilli was more expensive than I would have thought. However when today's contestant picked the chilli 1st and $4.49 was revealed as the price I knew the peanut butter was the match. Nice win of a nice dining room.

Switch?: Not my favorite prizes but still nice to see a win.

One Away: Ashamed the Scion XB wasn't won. Bummer of an end to a good show.

Showcases: The  Ford Mustang showcase was the better showcase and it's ashamed it was won.

Lineup: Weak: Coming or Going and Switch? are 2 of our dullest games and Coming or Going is a weak weak lead off hitter. 1/2 is 1 of the most unfair games and Pick Pair isn't 1 of the best GP games (I don't mind Pick a Pair but it shouldn't be in a lineup that already includes Switch? and Coming or Going. The only thing I liked about the lineup was getting to see More or Less which is a great game.

Miscellaneous: Contestants row round 5 featured a fireplace. Why are we offering a fireplace when it's well over 100 degrees outside and the monsoons are a few weeks away?

Overall: The 4 for 6 means this was a very good show and the $10000 on the wheel made it even better. And that More or Less segment was absolutely great!
« Last Edit: June 11, 2014, 08:35:43 PM by moneygamelover »
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.
