I can't believe that Punch-A-Bunch's six-year losing streak has finally come to an end (for those who are wondering, the last full win was on March 25, 2008).

I wish Drew did a better buildup of the reveal, or have a higher tone of voice when the slip was opened, as I felt he didn't give the win justice.  Still, it was something to be in chat and see everyone's jaws drop when the $25,000 slip was revealed.  There hasn't been this much excitement in a show since Sheree won that Audi R8 in Gas Money and the last perfect show on December 31st, in my opinion, so this amazing luck should have been sold to the audience at home in the studio for all it's worth and more.

Now, only Golden Road and Plinko remain to be completely won on the daytime show under Drew's watch.

Also, it's kind of funny to see the win graphic be in the old money win font from Season 36 and 37, rather than the current font used in the showcase showdown, Half Off, It's in the Bag, and Grand Game.

My two cents:

Easy as 123: I guess in this case, it's kinda self-explanatory.
Money Game: Tough break.
Balance Game: Same as Money Game.
Pick a Number: Simple as that.
Punch a Bunch: OMG!! After 6 years, we finally have a full $25,000 win (and on her very first punch, too!)!! (Drew's reveal means nothing to me in this case) And WOW! Drew even stated during the 2nd SCSD that she had also punched a $10K slip in her 2nd punch!
That's Too Much: Tough break, but that Dodge Challenger-- Wow! You don't see a car like that every day on TPIR.

Showcases: I think the Veloster Showcase was the better Showcase, because of its Eco-Shift transmission.

This week just keeps getting better!

Now, if only we can also get a full win on that game that involves a road or something like that.  :D

THE BAD NEWS:

Money Game: The first numbers and the last numbers strike again.

Balance Game: Talk about getting duped on that Jamaican trip.

TTM: Guess that Challenger must be tricked-out a bit. At least Emily won a FRATS.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Eazy As 1-2-3: Quick and easy (pun intended) win for Collete!

P-A-N: Another person trusting in his gut. Good work by Jason!

Punch-A-Bunch: Finally, 6 years and the futility has ended!!!!!!!! Congrats to Emily!  But seriously Drew......Try to contain yourself.  :P I swear, he hardly build this up......And if even he did, he sure was nonchalant about it. At least, everybody was excited about it.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

While no car wins, today's playing of Punch was awesome and that was the highlight of this episode. So far, the week is starting to pick up now!

About bleeping time somebody won the $25K on PaB & on the first punch, no less!!!!!! It would've been nice for that Challenger to have been won on TTM, too, though I would've lost on Price #4.

If Emily would have swap the 1st two punches , it would had been as heartbreaking as anything I've ever seen on the show. It turned into one of the best 5 moments of this season.

Great punch-a-bunch win!
As I mentioned in the other thread, Drew has indicated on more than one playing that he initially misread a slip when he opened it, misplacing the comma.  I think his reveal lacked a buildup because he kept trying to assure himself that he was seeing the comma in the correct place (especially since the $25K has never been found before).  Could they make a distinctive mark or color on the top prizes to make them more recognizable for him?

To that end, I agree with the earlier suggestion of the $25,000 slip having its text printed in red ink.

Easy as 1 2 3: Setup to be won. A 32 inch TV isn't going to be that expensive and a Kawasaki motorcycle is. I hadn't a clue about the accessories but they kinda fell into 2. Easy win. And the TV and motorcycle were nice even if accessories aren't my favorite prize.

Money Game: With the Ford Focus having paint and fabric protection we knew that the price would not end in 5 or 0. But Money Game is tough to win if all 3 picks are needed to get the front as that allows only 1 mistake on the back. But 42 has been on the board all year and not been right and certainly by this late in the season contestants should have picked up on something like that. Ashamed the Ford Focus wasn't won. I liked it's vivid red look.

Balance Game: $7102 was clearly too cheap for Jamaica. Too bad. That was a nice trip.

Pick a Number: The audience may have been split but today's contestant won by going with his own gut. Future contestants: If your instincts are not consistent with the audience or any member thereof always go with your own gut. Nice win of a nice bed.

Punch a Bunch: The highlight of the day! $25000! THAT'S A 1ST!. Drew didn't do a great job with the buildup or reveal but Punch a Bunch has always been 1 of his biggest weaknesses. This is where Bob would have been at his best.

That's Too Much: Unfortunate the Dodge Challenger wasn't won. That was a brutal setup though.

Showcases: That overbid hurt. I thought $25000 sounded reasonable.

Lineup: Good. Easy as 1 2 3 is a fun lead off hitter,Money Game is a great car game and Balance Game and Punch a Bunch are always fun. I'm not a huge Pick a Number fan but it does slot well 4th. That's Too Much is a dull closer. In today's lineup I'd have flip flopped slotting and played That's Too Much 5th and Punch a Bunch 6th.

Overall: The $25000 win on Punch a Bunch alone makes this a good show. A 4th PG win or a car win (be it in a PG or the showcases) would have made it a great show.
« Last Edit: June 19, 2014, 11:47:15 PM by moneygamelover »
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

But 42 has been on the board all year and not been right and certainly by this late in the season contestants should have picked up on something like that.

But not all contestants watch the show all the time - or even pay attention to that sort of stuff. It has been a tradition to have the season number up there for a while and it has been right in the past, but yes, it is wrong mostly. However you should not expect all contestants to be LFAT's - especially when it is very rare to see any on anymore.

It only took six years, but we finally got a win!  Great to see the top money slip, see you again in 2020.

To say that $25,000 was never given away in the history of the game (this was said both on the show and online) is, of course, nonsense.
