Thank you, Taylor, for winning that showcase. We don't need an everything-but-cars show.

My two cents:

2 for the Price of 1: Another good win! And a big one, too! And he also won a Honda Civic in his Showcase!
Switcheroo: OUCH! She had the Scion on the first try, and she changed it on her 2nd try and ended up winning only the ice cream maker (although if I were in her position, I wouldn't mind winning an ice cream maker)
Side by Side: Piece of cake!
Now or Then: Another good win!
Most Expensive: Kwan ignoring his friends sure paid off!
Gas Money: First the Ford Explorer in More or Less last week, now this game for a Volkswagen Beetle convertible. I thought for sure she was going to get it. Too bad it just wasn't meant to be today.

Showcases: Both Showcases are equally superb. Personally, I didn't care which one was won.

Another good week.

THE BAD NEWS:

Gas Money: There was deafening silence from the crowd when Carla picked $31,415.......I guess they know their Beetles. Carla can probably give back the satellite radio stuff. No need to keep it.

Switcheroo: Crystal had the price of the car right. Talk about your "If Only" scenarios........At least, she can make ice cream.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Side By Side: Easy win for Willie!

NoT: A good job by Loretta!

ME: That almost seemed to be a tricky setup with the accessories and the W/D........Good job by Kwan picking the W/D!

24TPO1: Taylor did great and he also a Civic at the end!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

All-in-all, not as great as the previous shows for these two weeks.......But it was still good, nevertheless. Nice to see a skit on SC1, but SC2 seemed less of a bother from Mike. If they were going to promote the Reckless show (which is a show I probably could care less about watching this summer), they would at least bring in some cast members to present the prizes on SC2.

Either way, it was a good show to end the regular season.......Let's see how the first make-good and the 4th Of July special plays out next week.

Those were some of the best showcases in a long time. And the fact that the Reckless didn't have celebrities made it better.

More of this, please.
Certainly more competent in running a game than Roger Goddell.

Switcheroo was both played and explained horribly today. A ten dollar grilling set?? And, after seven seasons as host, Drew still says things like "put the right numbers in the right spot" and "wherever the right numbers are, that's the prize you win" instead of something plain and simple like "complete the price of each prize correctly" and "you win each prize that has the right price".

He also didn't explicitly give the contestant a chance to stop after the first round, knowing that would have won one prize for sure (today, the car). I'm pretty sure Bob would have said something to the effect of "You have one price right. Maybe it's the price of the car." I don't think today's contestant would have stopped, but she should have had the opportunity.

We did have some good wins today though.

I've noticed that some nicer-than-usual cars have been offered recently as we end the season. Cars in the $27K-$32K range; the Challenger, the Beetle, and others. I wonder why and if this will continue into next season's early shows, at least.

2 for the Price of 1: Taking the number for free was the smart thing to do and what I would have done. The 9 was obviously right and the 0 "looked" better than the 2. I was very confident $960 would be the ARP and great to start off with a win. Spain is clearly a great trip but I also liked how they paired 2 related prizes in the luggage and the trip.

Switcheroo: Tragic loss. Today's contestant had the Scion TC and.......... Very painful. My condolences to today's contestant. 1 thing about Switcheroo is that you can never say it "should have been won." That's because the true value of a car is the 1st 3 numbers of the price. Because the 10s digit is a very random digit in the price of a car you can never say this "should have been won."

Side by Side: Simple win of some nice ATVs.

Now or Then: If you know the 4-2 rule you knew a win was coming when today's contestant said now on the baby wipes as 2 thens were already revealed.  Nice win of a nice dining room.

Most Expensive: Glad to see today's contestant make his won decision instead of just going with his friends and great to see it pay off. Accessories aren't my thing but the washer/dryer set and bikes were nice prizes.

Gas Money: Ashamed the  Volkswagen Bettle wasn't won but it's still fantastic to see some more expensive cars being offered.

Showcases: The Honda Civic showcase was the better and it was great to see it won. Every prize in that showcase was outstanding. And while TVs are always well worth winning I'm not a boat person at all so preferring the Honda Civic showcase was an easy choice for me.

Lineup: Good with a great 1st 1/2. Switcheroo is 1 of our best games period and Side by Side is 1 of our best 1 prize games. I enjoyed 2 for the Price of 1 as a lead off hitter that was a fun change of pace. The 2nd 1/2 wasn't as good. Now or Then is my least favorite GP game and I'm not too keen on Gas Money and especially not as a closer (I would be a much bigger fan of Gas Money if it were a progressive game rather than a bailout game.) I like Most Expensive but it doesn't really strengthen a weak 1/2 that much.

Overall: 4 for 6 with a car showcase won and a great 1/2 half lineup make this a good show. But neither car game won and the Switcheroo tragedy prevent it from reaching "very good" status.

I don't think you understand Switcheroo if you feel that is reason you can't say "should have been won."  Even though it seems like it on the surface, Switcheroo isn't really about pricing the car:  it's about pricing the other prizes, which is far easier, and putting the leftover number in the car price.

I was going to say, "What celebrities that anybody has heard of are in Reckless, anyway?" (how "big" are Cam Gigandet (James from Twilight) and Michael Gladis (Paul Kinsey from Mad Men)?), but I saw a couple of old-school names in the cast; Gregory Harrison (Gonzo from Trapper John, MD) and Kim Wayans.

Now, when exactly is the "season finale"?  Wednesday is supposed to be new for some reason, right?  (And after that, the only new episodes before September are what I assume will be Salute to the Military on 7/4 and College Back To School on 8/15?)

Switcheroo was winnable. I knew the car was a 6 or a 5 based on the prices of the prizes.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 4th of July show will feature contestants competing individually. Remember last 4th of July we got stuck with 1 of those damn playing in pairs shows. Hopefully this year contestants will play as individuals as TPIR should always be.

Isn't that the one that was previewed this past week with the audience from the military branches?

I really loved the first showcase.  It actually felt like a skit-the models were dressed in costume and pantomimed before the camera revealed the prizes to the home audience.  The writing was pretty good, too.  I hope this becomes somewhat common again next season.
