What a day! I was afraid that Pay The Rent will be lost, but the setup was too easy to lose. Dice Game was also a close one, but I'm glad it was won. Perfect Show with a PTR Win? What madness is this?

I really like having the contestant names on the Bidders' Row screens before the bids appear.  I'll take more emphasis on the contestants any day.

Since you guys have been mulling over the number of winning combinations on Pay the Rent, I have the answer, thanks to a spreadsheet I cooked up in Excel.  There were not 5 winning combinations.  There were not 15 winning combinations.  Believe it or not, there were *56* winning combinations out of 120 combinations given the Breathe Right is in the attic.  As long as Breathe Right's on top, you have almost a 50/50 chance at $100,000 if you made uneducated guesses.

^ I think there's room for you to list all 56 in text form, using only the prices.

It would be a heckuva lot easier for me to upload my Excel file somewhere with the numbers already in place.

There was some redundancy in my worksheet, since the order of the items on the first and second floors don't matter.  The probabilities are the same, just reduced.  There are 14 winning combinations if order does not matter.  It was still a 50-50 proposition if you have the Breathe Right strips in the attic.

About the only group who should be disappointed today is the Navy, since they didn't have anyone called down until #9 if I'm reading the results right.

Sandra, our showcase winner, was among the first four and is Navy. However, when she won Money Game, the band played the Air Force Hymn. They did, however, play the correct hymn when she won her Showcase Showdown.
All opinions expressed here are well-reasoned and insightful. Needless to say, they are not those of the Price is Right, or any organization for which I have worked for or will work for. Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

Man, I remember a few years back on this day when Pauline was playing for a nice bedroom group (I think), and she kicked butt on Check-Out! I won't forget that episode. However, concerning this episode, it was SENSATIONAL!!!!!!! all 6 games were won, and PTR was beaten for the 2nd time. Fun show indeed! 5 out of 5 stars. And on a rating of 1 to 100, my rating was off the scale!

Fixed for ya.

My two cents (forgive me for tardiness):

Money Game: Man, what a win! And Sandra even won a Chevrolet Camaro convertible in her Showcase!
Bargain Game: Good win.
Pay the Rent: I always knew lightning would strike twice for this game! And we have our very first male daytime $100K+ winner!
Secret X: What a nail biter!
Dice Game: Same as Secret X, especially when this game is played for a fabulous Mustang!
Pick a Number: Our 2nd clean sweep this season!

Showcases: The superior Showcase, hands down, is the one with the Camaro convertible (and probably the best Showcase we've had all season)! I prefer a Camaro over a Dodge Dart any day!

All in all, the best episode we've had all season! All 6 games won, the bigger Showcase won, and best of all, $100,000 won in Pay the Rent!

Holy crap was that an awesome show.  A Pay the Rent win, a perfect show, some really big cars...honestly, short of a DSW or some money on the Big Wheel, there isn't a lot more you can ask for out of an episode.

In fact, the last few months of this season in general have been very, very good -- Barker-esque, even.  Drew in particular has been far, far more consistent recently, to the point that you can tell when he's actively trying not to let whatever it is that puts him into "I don't give a rat's ass" mode take effect.  I feel very wary about saying this, because heaven knows what might happen come September...but for the first time since Roger was fired, and maybe even the first time since Bob retired, the show finally feels like it's getting back on track.

This is the first military special I have watched in some time. Is this the first time the contestants did not wear name tags?

Second, actually, although it's the first one where no one had one.  Drew said on last season's Veterans' Day show that the commandant of the Marine Corps didn't let his troops wear name tags.

It didn't matter, as she won her showcase, but Drew didn't remind the second showcase bidder not to include the price of the "bonus" (the clothing, guitar, and tickets to the fanfest and "All-Star Sunday" events) in her showcase.

I would imagine he did and it was just edited out.

No, I did mean the Big Wheel. The band played "Stars and Stripes Forever" after the Showcase reveal.
