Ideally, the audience should be quiet. If they're only saying "higher" or "lower," then at least they're not providing information that Drew himself isn't providing. (If anything, they're making things worse by potentially confusing the contestant or breaking their concentration.)

Besides, if you stop tape (even though nobody has revealed part of the price), that's when somebody's going to shout "849!"

Drew could have said "Stop the clock!" (I recall Bob doing that once in a while) and asked the audience to keep quiet, though I think he should have addressed the audience before the first bid (the way Bob did).

Golden Road is just cursed. Seriously, the right answer has been 1 about as regularly in that game as the right answer is "less" in More Or Less. And it's certainly rarely if ever been the highest option, yet the highest option frequently gets picked. So the painful reverse was almost too much to take today. Certainly exciting TV, but this is just getting crazy at this point.

The setups of this show felt far more appropriate for premiere week than the rest of this week, so thanks for that. Gas wasn't as hard as usual, PAP really wasn't that hard at all but just had some bad guesses, and really nothing was overtly set up for a loss today.

Everything about the current Clock Game is worse than the original. Seriously, you're going to put all this effort in and you can't even bother to get the price on screen in a timely fashion? I suppose I'll eventually get used to it, but this stinks. I don't mind the $1000 bonus being gone though, as it's redundant now, and this was the perfect time to get rid of it.

I agree with you on that. The noise and screaming gets to a point where it becomes obnoxious, and it happened on today's show. Can the norm for giving bids in the Showcase round just be a clear, calm, non-over the top bid, please?

Always use the lav mics just in case Drew's mic is not working. But the lav mics are used for reactions. When a contestant gives a bid in Contestants Row or the showcase, the sound operator mutes off the lav mic so that the contestant speaks into the regular mic.

And isn't it pizza originated from Naples anyway?
Cue vadernader's Naples trip skin from Jon's game...

Now that I think about it, in Golden Road did the 1 in the price of the hot tub look a bit off to anyone?  I thought it was just me, but it seemed more like a 1 from an older version of the game while the others look more recent. If so, I wonder if noticing that would have made a difference.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that.  I don't ever recall seeing a 1 that looked like that -- it looked more like a mistake than anything else, really.

Wow, they actually dragged out Golden Road for premiere week.

And Double Prices at Door #3 again.

And the premiere of Stopwatch Game the new Clock Game... with the turntable spinning on camera.

My showcase bids:
Singapore--$21,707
Clown car--$25,707
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

So there are some of us who like the new Clock Game prop, and some who don't.  Not surprising.  But either way, it beats the hell out of the altogether lack of a prop for Clock Game on TnPIR'94!  (Unless you actually count the video wall, which was multiple-purpose, as a prop.)
