Eligibilty requirements?
« on: October 23, 2014, 07:53:21 AM »
Thinking about going to see Price again.  Are the contestant requirements somewhere online?  I've looked around on OCA, CBS.com and thepriceisright.com with no luck.  Happy to make some calls if that's what is required as well. Wondering about where contestants can be from (ie. from outside of US) as well as previous gs appearance limits.
Thanks, LJP.

To eligible to be a contestant you must not have been a contestant on Price for the past 10 years. You must not be an employee of Freemantle, CBS, or any CBS affiliate or a family member thereof. You must also not hold or be a current candidate for any political office. Foreign contestants are welcome. There have been contestants from Canada, Australia, etc.  One final note is that the show doesn't like to give free advertising so you diminish your chances of being chosen if you wear a shirt with a brand or business name on it.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

It's a little outdated but here's one from a contestant search a few years back.

I find it very odd that The Price is Right doesn't have something like this on any of its official sites.
