Money Game: El Cheapo strikes again!

One Right Price: Easy win. When I saw the price of the Colorado trip, I thought it was going to say $420.

Time is Money: I have a feeling Earl was confused. Also they should have played something else than ToM because of his age.

Pick A Number: We've been seeing this game more often. Easy win.

More or Less: Got tripped up on the ATV. I knew it was less.

Showcases: A two car showcase! That was a nice throw-in from Mike. When was the last time that happened?

Overall, a decent show.

I really thought the second showcase was going to be a "Triple Play showcase" after the second car was revealed, but I guess Mike feared the budget would get nasty if it indeed was one, and won.

Major props to Drew for mentioning El Cheapo in Money Game, though!

My two cents:

Cliff Hangers: Bidding 30 on the pitcher is one thing. Bidding only 20 on the pepper mill-- That's quite another. Tough break on the last bid. Only $3.
Money Game: I knew El Cheapo had the back of the car, since it was the only multiple of 5 on the board after 20 was revealed to have the front of the car, and most Hyundai prices are a multiple of 5. Picking 43 (the season number, which could still be in a car price; just not today) was not her downfall. Picking any non-multiple of 5 was.
One Right Price: Piece of cake!
Time is Money: It's bad enough to put the Listerine on a platform other than the $6+, but to leave one platform vacant?!

More or Less: Tough break on the ATV. I knew it wasn't expensive. As for the Versa, I'm betting it was "more".

Showcases: Not every day you see a "FRACS". Definitely the superior Showcase (two cars is far better than one subcompact car like the Toyota Yaris), since it was nothing but cars. But okay to see the other one won.

How the heck did Robert go "More" on the ATV?  90% of the audience was pointing their thumbs down!

I was kinda hoping the last prize in Cliff would be $45...certainly would've made for an incredible finish.  (Out of curiosity, has there ever been a contestant who did win by making an exact guess with the mountain climber on Step #25?)

That was just about the worst playing of TiM we've seen thus far.  But then again, Earl was obviously having trouble moving quickly...probably should've waited to call him down until after the game was played, or play it earlier in the show.

So, this was a very, very, very unusual show. With the ORP (easy enough with the distance rule) and P-A-N wins, the rest of the lineup was just awkward. Cliffy really made Hans hang by a thread and hit rock bottom, and MoL would've at least been won if Robert didn't underestimate the ATV. Although, it was good that Drew acknowledge El Cheapo on MG.

And as TiM................Earl and that game is water and electricity; It didn't mix. I agree that he was really confused and he had no idea what to do. TiM was definitely not Earl's speed (no pun intended) and if it were me, any other casher would've been better than something that would leave someone perplexed and nervous. A bad call on Mike's part.

And SCs were.........SMH. SC1 probably didn't get the memo that Halloween was over almost 4 months ago, and SC2 was just too damn lazy, with just two cars out there like that.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

A ho-hum show to start this week. And a rather weird one at that. But at least one of the 5 cars were won and that's something.

Cliffhangers: Although the 20-30-40 trick would have yielded a win with $18 to spare, I still this setup as difficult. That water filtration pitcher looked more expensive than $15. Very easy to use up some margin for error there. Once the $15 was revealed today's contestant did seem to know the ascending order rule. It was just going to be tough to over come that start.  I would have won with an error of $16 and $9 to spare as my guesses were $25, $33, and $45. Too bad about the loss. The prize package was good but what I really liked about it was the theme. The breakfast theme made for an interesting presentation. And Krispy Kreme? Mmmmmmmmmm.

Money Game: It's really unfortunate that the Hyundai Elantra wasn't won. I would have won easily regardless of what happened with the front because I know both the season number rule and the el cheapo rule. And I loved Drew's end of game reaction. After 05 was revealed as the back, Drew mentioned el cheapo and said it should have been an easy win. The HP laptop was a nice contestant's row prize though.

One Right Price: A nice win of some nice Colorado and Puerto Rico trips. The international trip would be more expensive than a domestic trip, but this shows why One Right Price is more challenging and interesting than Switch? You only get to see one of the prices before making a pick. I would have won it though.

Time is Money: This was easily the worst I've seen this game played since it's return. This is mostly because of all the times today's contestant left a podium blank. It's always a bummer to have a $0 put up here. I mixed up the soap and the corn but had the other three right.

Pick a Number: I disagree about this being a piece of cake or easy setup. I don't think you can call anything easy when two of the choices are only $100 apart when the hundreds digit is what is being priced. 50/50 shot between $5595 and $5695. Glad to see a win but don't see this setup as easy. More 50-50 shot like.

More or Less: It's really a shame that the Nissan Versa never got played for. In my opinion, this was reasonably setup for the car to at least be reached.

Showcase: Can't beat a two car showcase so that was definitely the better showcase. Still, the showcase that was won was pretty damn good itself. A TV + Disneyland + a car? I'll take that any day. I don't care the calendar says, I enjoyed the Halloweenish vibe given off by the presentation too.

Lineup: Outstanding: Cliffhangers, Money Game, Time is Money, and More or Less are all favorites. Cliffhangers is a fabulous lead off hitter and More or Less is a superb closer. One Right Price doesn't help or hurt a lineup. Pick a Number is okay as long as it's not the lead off hitter or closer. Outstanding lineup.

Overall: This was an above average show. After the pricing games I thought "2 for 6 and none of the prizes won were favorites (with the trips being the best of what was won.) and a strong lineup = average show. But the showcase segment elevated this show for me. To see a 2 car showcase offered was totally awesome baby! And the showcase that was won had a fun theme with fantastic prizes and a very good bid from today's winning contestant. That showcase round elevated this show for me.

With the Listerine being off the $6+ platform, I was confidently able to say "No" each time Earl hit the button because I was pretty sure he was incorrect. I suppose there's nothing in the rules that states that one or more platforms can't be vacant, but definitely not the $6+ one today.

I would have won Money Game, and I think "05" would have been my first choice.

I liked Showcase 2. As lazy as it might seem, it's been a while since we've had a two car showcase. Also, we've seen lazier two prize showcases than this.

That would be very mean-spirited and I don't know how the rules are officially written, but I'd have a problem with that and tell the producers as such.

It could make things "easier" depending on what the products are. Think about products chosen to be "on the extremes". For example, two products priced at about $1 or $1.50, and three priced at $10 or more. Would you like this arrangement? The middle podium would be left open.
