At first I liked how the audience/contestants all wore suits and business attire...kind of a throwback to the '70s era of the US version.  But when the host came out dressed extremely casually, it felt a bit weird.

But, did anyone notice that one  of the contestants and the host look like a couple of familiar actors, thecontestant in the First podium looked like Tom Villard and the host looked like Mary Wickes (???)

In Italy until the mid-90s it was common for hosts and contestants to wear and speak formally (even camera operators wore suits!) and they referred to each other by last name.
Today hosts don't wear ties and contestants are called by first name only.

however most of what the US TPIR audience wears would still be a no-no even on a show like Avanti Un Altro!, where the host will let you do this to him  http://media.tvblog.it/d/d84/terga-620x350.jpg
