How the Old One Bid Machine Works

Here's a look with Price director Adam Sandler at the One Bid machine used from 1972 - 1993, posted by the official YouTube channel:

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Awesome stuff. The one machine that replaced the one shown in the video (which resembles that one) is in the Golden Gallery, I presume its successor was used until 1993-2009, when the current One-Bid displays came into use.

It is absurd that videos on the TPIR channel are now geoblocked, including the one above.   What is the show or CBS going to lose by allowing people overseas to see the above video?  Even the Manuela blooper video is now blocked.

I wish that whoever decided to use a yellow background for the third one-bid readout on the 80's and 90's Decades shows would have seen this video first...

Why did they change the third one bid readout from orange to yellow. I liked it when it was orange.

I can't watch the video either.

agreed...orange is a better darker color for the bid to show up.....heck the originals were a burnt orange color. lol
