CSS Results -- 29 May 2006
« on: May 29, 2006, 02:06:00 PM »
Today was the first of three games played just for fun (yet count towards actual statistics), and most of you should be glad we played it for fun. A living room-piano showcase bankrupted a baker's dozen of players (yes, El_Whammy fouled, but he would have overbid on #2 anyway). For those who went under, five were within a thousand dollars (with everyone else, save the stage player, within two thousand), and two had the fortune of doubling. BuddyTom picks up his fourth win, beating the other doubler, AndyL, by a convincing $4,799 margin.

Good thing the Chat Bork got me and I spent the showcases trying to get back in...I would have joined the Buddy Tom Club today with $17,007 on the furniture.

How appropriate for me to win a piano! :-D

I'm curious to know the ARP on that boat. I think the 18' Reinell is around $19K and obviously the 20' is more, but there seems to be quite a large price gap between the two if that showcase came in at $29K+.

Why couldn't the first round of the playoffs be today? :hammer:

I would've been devastated had the playoffs started today. A tragic overbid killed my excellent bid on the boat. It doesn't mean anything today, though, so no complaints from me. If anything, this made me feel good going into the playoffs. For me to nail a boat showcase like that was pretty awesome. So I'm even more confident than I already was. :-)

By the way, Armadillo overbid too, so that made me wonder- what happens if both players overbid in a playoff matchup? Lowest difference on the overbid?

My bids were lost somehow, but they were both painfully over -- 30500/17000.  I will give myself a score of 0 on the leaderboard.

My first ever money!  Even if it doesn't mean anything, and I won't be in chat the next two weeks to participate in the NIT version of the tourney, I'll still take it :-).

Damn it, I would have had the best bid on that boat if it wasn't for that bloody furniture. Boo urns.

BTW, for BuddyTom's question, that boat is about $27,354 in price. That's what I put into my calculator.

Jordan: I'll put your bids down on the board.

And Heels, Lowest difference gets it.

Lowest difference...you mean on the counting showcase?  Or does the overage count too?  (Not that it would have mattered today...I garfed that boat something fierce.)
