Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:

3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)

5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.

This is one of the classic episodes of this decade. I remember watching a summer rerun of this when I was 13 and going absolutely crazy at the end.

This looks to be taken from the summer rerun as you say thanks to the promo during the credits. I'll have to say that is one of the most unexpected showcase presentations for a non-special episode ever made as well, and it still feels shocking watching it again!
