I hadn't really thought about this before, but the reality of death means that every day there are less people in the world than the day before.  In reality there are many more people in the world than this but for illustration: If one day there are 1000 people in the world and the next day 55 people die, now there are 945 people in the world. if 30 more die the next day now there are 915 people in the world. So we'll eventually become extinct as will all creatures as the same reality applies to dogs, cats, horses etc.

I respect that they had to make Triple pretty hard, so everything else was quite winnable... just one of those days where no one played well. In particular I don't know why the H-L contestant's friend thought it was the sugar - she was holding up two fingers, so I have to wonder if she thought the pot pie was #2 on the line (as opposed to 3) or some type of mistake like that. Or she thought it looked like a huge sack, the bag was odd-looking.

I will say though that for someone who doesn't know Cliff's secret rules, 40 on a beverage chiller and 25 on a dog leash look like good guesses. I feel like for nearly a 5-digit trip Mike kinda wanted that lost if it worked out that way, which it certainly did.

Money has had a weird season. Sometimes semi-hard setups are won super easily, other times easier ones like today are just screwed around with. Way too many people have wasted 44 and a front two option on back choices. Like, why does 19 even look good there to her, disregarding the front two aspect it still looks wrong (or it would be in L7 if it was right).

All said, blatantly spoiling Triple with that OB2 (in general, theming OBs with luggage always = trip next etc is just stale at this point) and car 4th yet again marring an otherwise strong lineup are repeating issues this season. Shame Triple's last show on the season was very forgettable.

Yay for John! Always exciting to see a contestant from my home turf make it on the show. I had met a number of people from surrounding cities back when I went to the show last August but nobody from around where I was from. I can't recall the last time someone from my area made it on the show.

Surprises. The show no longer has surprises.

There was a sense tuning in that you never knew what was going to happen. Would this be a three car day? Would the host walk out from the back of the audience? Would we see one of the Big 3 games? Would a special guest drop by? Would we learn something memorable about a contestant?

Instead we get bombarded with videos of spoilers on every imaginable platform. And when a nice surprise might happen, we get beat over the head in the One Bid and game introduction so that it falls flat and everybody can see it coming from a mile away. Moving the game to the second slot instead of getting the show off with a bang also doesn't help things.

Sometimes, it's OK to reward me for watching at that particular moment.

Seemed like a edit just prior to Flip Flop, as John appeared to tweak Drew's bad shoulder. 😵

With having James in board shorts again in this episode,  the thing that popped into my head was all the flack Barker used to get in the 80s for having the Beauties in two piece suits. Drew mentioned the women catcalling in the audience, and it just smacked of reverse sexism to me.

I like when they actually decide to play Triple Play, but I didn't like how they made it pretty obvious it was gonna be the game with the 3 car stereos as the item up for bids. I would've lost on the Fiat myself, and the second car was pretty difficult too but that one I had right.

Hi Lo was easy if you remembered the chicken pot pie is expensive. I didn't think the sugar was a bad guess and I thought it would be more expensive than it was (I don't buy sugar that much).

Moving the game to the second slot instead of getting the show off with a bang also doesn't help things.
I like that they moved Triple Play into other spots personally. I do like when it started the show because it made for an exciting start especially when won, but I like the variety and the unexpectedness of it even though it's been a few seasons that it hasn't been just played first.

Surprises. The show no longer has surprises.
I disagree that surprises are all gone. I think last week proved that more than anything. The Amber Magic # moment, the "pants" moment, and the Manuela hit moment were all instances the show could've edited out. I appreciate, and was actually rather surprised, that they didn't. I suppose you could argue that you could see the "pants" moment was coming after Drew's comment during the 3rd IUFB, but still, the show has started SC themes and other bits only to fall flat and not go through with them. So I felt that was nice.

Also, you'll just never be able to truly predict how a game will go. You can take a good guess and a lot of times that's what will end up happening, but somethings, like the miraculous Lucky Seven win a couple of weeks ago or even the Golden Road win from Dream Car Week, you just can't expect.

So even though they're trying things like this to put some "pop" into the show and it doesn't really work, I think the nature of the show makes it impossible to drain all surprise out of it and I think sometimes the staff can pull off a good surprise.

Definitely shouldn't have been a skunked show. I'll chalk up a lot of the losses to things just not going the right way more than contestant error, but Hi-Lo should've been won. I know that was a somewhat large bag of sugar, but that was an ENTIRE chicken pot pie. Not one of those small personal ones you'd get from KFC.

I'd also extend a bit of blame to the OWP contestant. Not much though because designer items can be tricky, but $4100 sounds like too much of a range from General Electric. That was the big tip off for me, but I can see a contestant going designer instead.
