Marcus (who is turning 30) will get to play today’s LMAD game – Smash for Cash – for up to $20,000!
Here’s how it’s played – out of 6 grocery items that have a piggy bank on top, you have to pick the 5 that are below a given price (like with Grand Game). Jonathan will smash the piggy bank that corresponds to your pick. You’ll know you’re right if there is money inside the piggy bank – the one that is wrong has a zonk. For each correct pick, you advance up a money ladder - $0 -> $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 -> $5,000 -> $20,000. The amount of money inside the piggy bank determines how many steps you move up the ladder. Of course, you may bail once you make at least two correct picks.
The grocery products:

·         OxiClean stain remover, 3 lb.

·         Frozen Band-Aids, 20-ct.

·         Glad containers with lids, 8-ct.

·         Knudsen cottage cheese with pineapple, 3.9 oz.

·         Starbucks salted caramel hot cocoa mix, 8 1-oz. packets

·         Midnite sleep aid tablets, 30-ct.

I hadn't really thought about this before, but the reality of death means that every day there are less people in the world than the day before.  In reality there are many more people in the world than this but for illustration: If one day there are 1000 people in the world and the next day 55 people die, now there are 945 people in the world. if 30 more die the next day now there are 915 people in the world. So we'll eventually become extinct as will all creatures as the same reality applies to dogs, cats, horses etc.

I found the gameplay of Smash for Cash (Price version - I don't watch LMAD) a bit awkward. Naming each pig before smashing it? Why one dollar bills, which we couldn't see until Jonathan unrolled and showed them? I also think the dollar amount board and its steps could have been made a bit clearer and easier to follow.

With the exception of one or maybe two games this week, I think LMAD games should stay on that show. They don't have that Price feel to me. It was interesting, at least, to see them this week, and history was made. :)

I guess Meghan had a feeling today in Dice Game, but she should have gone with the odds. You never know though.

I thought Smash for Cash worked pretty well and it would make a good regular pricing game. It made the most sense as a pricing game of the LMaD games we saw this week. It was a different spin on Grand Game with a little bit of Gas Money. As for the gameplay, I thought the MidNite was the pretty obvious item to avoid, although since it's been on the show recently we knew what the price would be already.

The second Showcase just ended up being awkward and well...lame. They could have put some more thought into saluting Let's Make a Deal.

Smash was executed decently, but considering that it's basically Grand Game with piggy banks, I'm not sure about having it on as a regular pricing game. That setup was indeed begging to be won though. And speaking of setups, I'm still shocked about Switch. They really did not want that to be won.

I disagree with you on the second showcase, I thought it was well executed.

There was no way the price of a range ended in -063 with a prize package up for grabs as well.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

The best thing about this week is that it is probably as close as we'll ever get to what the season 37 premiere week was meant to be, with a new game debuting each day.

I honestly enjoyed all 5 games and would gladly welcome them as permanent games if it were possible.  There were a few awkward bits with some of the games but a lot of that was to do with them only being one-off playings; if they were permanent games I'm sure we would see further refinement of the games (e.g. adding a progressive car price display for Gold Rush as the numbers are selected).

The dollar bills was the same as they would use on Deal (thus each pig can have a different amount of steps in it - each dollar moves the board up one step with several steps between each amount), but on that show they have more (10, I believe) pigs with 2 Zonks.  Also on Deal there is no hint as to which pigs to pick - they are just 1-10 with no reasoning where the Zonks are placed.

I wonder how Bob would feel about the destruction of (ceramic) animals on the show.
