I hadn't really thought about this before, but the reality of death means that every day there are less people in the world than the day before.  In reality there are many more people in the world than this but for illustration: If one day there are 1000 people in the world and the next day 55 people die, now there are 945 people in the world. if 30 more die the next day now there are 915 people in the world. So we'll eventually become extinct as will all creatures as the same reality applies to dogs, cats, horses etc.

I was actually appalled at the second prize's price in Magic #, and I'm even wondering if the prize was deliberately used to prevent a win today. That's got to be the most expensive prize ever offered in the game, no?

Awesome win in Check-Out. Great to see somebody nail one of the GPs on the nose!

How would it do that?  The higher priced prize being ridiculously expensive would only make the contestant less likely to lose by going over, which pretty much never happens in Magic # anyway.

I'm really getting sick of Most Expen$ive's (and One Wrong Price's) setups.  Could they have any less variety in the prices that they use?

Magic #...wow, just wow.

Wow, just a ridiculous range in Magic # today. Not only that, but I doubt anyone would ever set their number to $3,000 or more. I'd really like to know what's behind the choice in prizes for this game the last few seasons.

Magic # was simply unacceptable. There was no need for a $6,000 gap. None. If you were trying to get the game won, that's NOT how you do it. If you were trying to get the game lost, that's NOT how you do it. I don't know if they get this or not, but this is simply breaking the game. There is literally no challenge left in it and it looks bad because you've not just cracked the door wide open with this kind of setup, you've unscrewed it and taken it off its hinges and thrown it into a door shredder from Monsters Inc. And the crazy part is that it still gets lost. If you're not going to have a prize that's $1500-$2500 in price or have a prize that looks explicitly expensive as the first prize in the game, people are still going to lose the game. And I don't know what's wrong with people. I don't know if they're just scared to let it go, if they're ignoring Drew or both. Drew continued to say multiple times that he needed to get the Magic # between the price of the TV and Island as he was playing and made a point to emphasis what kind of TV it was and its size. But at the same time, people aren't going to realize how much an outdoor TV is supposed to cost, because no one's out buying one.

Stop. Just stop. Stop breaking this game. I was fine with the $3,000 range sometimes because it was usually a ~$2000 prize plus a ~$5,000 prize, but this is just ridiculous. I don't know what problem you see with the game, but the way you're going about fixing it is terrible and sucks any possible fun the game could have right out of it. I don't want to see a great game like this retired, but you're making it seem as if the damn thing's unrepairable and that's the only solution.

Magic # was just shocking. From episodes past I know that those BBQ islands aren't cheap so I was confused the whole game...I wouldn't mind if it got retired next season due to inflation of prize costs

With the second prize being nearly $9,000, the gap between the two prizes being very unusual and unanticipated, and given that contestants the last couple of seasons tend to lowball their choices, it seemed to me like the game was setup for a loss today. They actually could've been wanting an easy win for this game though, but as people have pointed out, the gap and prizes just weren't acceptable.

They don't necessarily need to retire the game because of inflation costs. They just need to offer more reasonable prizes with fair ranges and not have ridiculous setups like today's.

This does not make any sense, how could the high price of the second prize be in an attempt to get a contestant to lowball their guess and lose? The only way that would make sense is if the cheaper prize was unexpectedly expensive - then the contestant may lowball their guess thinking they covered the first prize but lose. The general rule is the larger the gap between the two prizes the easier the setup is...

I really don't see the problem with large ranges in Magic #, today was obviously a bit over the top but let's not forget how bad Magic # used to be. Between Seasons 38 through 40 it went a combined 3-13, 3 wins, 13 losses. The way they decided to tackle it was to (starting in Season 41) make the ranges between the prizes a lot larger. It suddenly was won more often, with a 8-2 record in Season 41, but since then has had just over a 60% win percentage which seems fair to me.
