Great show today.
Only a Triple Play Car away from a perfect show.
Great playing of Pushover.
1st time since 12/21/2012 where the last Guess ( $11,713 ) was the correct Price of the Prize ( for a 5 Digit Prize playing of the game )
Classic cues coming out the Vault today: during the 45th Video and the 2nd Showcase.

Has there ever been a playing of Pass the Buck, with a $9.99 starting price for a Grocery item, as one of the guesses?

Once -- many many years ago, I think back when I was a page. Well, maybe not $9.99 exactly, but it started with a 9. I think Roger realized his mistake once he saw it on the display during the taping. I wonder if the same epiphany occurred as this episode unfolded.

Did Drew make note of it on-air?

Great show. Drew was on point, fun contestants and good wins. The only shame was that Triple Play wasn't won, and even then it came down to the wire.

I also noted Drew mentioned that the contestant could keep choosing in Pass the Buck after selecting the car first. If I recall correctly, hasn't he not been doing that lately?

No
He only said " Which one needs the Extra Dollar " , then they showed the Prices again ( without any mention of the prices by Drew ) , then the Contestant picked the Oxi-Clean.

It's nice that we're getting a 5/6er this early. The setups weren't too hard for the most part, other than Push Over (I was expecting the trip to be 13 or possibly 17, it showed up all the time in showcases last season) and probably the last car in Triple Play (for me, it was a tossup between 21 and 23 due to the added paint & fabric protection, 24 seemed like too much).

The amount of obvious editing present throughout Triple Play was rather annoying. It just sucked much of the excitement out of it.

Why do they continue revealing trips on the turntable wall? As seen today before Bonkers, the contestant is facing away from it, so it looked very awkward.

I'd complain about all of these "1 prize followed by a luxury car" showcases, but the appearance of some classic cues definitely made up for it today.

And I knew today's lineup seemed familiar while I was watching the show...compare today's lineup to the lineup for December 21, 2015 (last season's Triple Play win):
12/21/2015: Cliff Hangers, Coming or Going, Triple Play, Bonkers, Pass the Buck, Most Expen$ive
09/21/2016: Push Over, Triple Play, Cliff Hangers, Bonkers, Pass the Buck, 1 Right Price

Has there ever been a playing of Pass the Buck, with a $9.99 starting price for a Grocery item, as one of the guesses?
Not sure if I understand your post completely, but Pass the Buck's previous playing (June 7, 2016) had the exact same MidNite sleep aid.
I hadn't really thought about this before, but the reality of death means that every day there are less people in the world than the day before.  In reality there are many more people in the world than this but for illustration: If one day there are 1000 people in the world and the next day 55 people die, now there are 945 people in the world. if 30 more die the next day now there are 915 people in the world. So we'll eventually become extinct as will all creatures as the same reality applies to dogs, cats, horses etc.

The price was shown today as $9.99 ( The Correct Price )
If the contestant would had picked the Mid-Nite as the one that needed the dollar ,  how would it fit , being the Display can only show up to 3 numbers.

Ah, I get you now. Good question...looking through Scorpz's site, I can definitely tell you it hasn't happened since at least Season 40 (he doesn't list the grocery items for playings before Season 40). I'll probably need to check past recaps to see if it's happened before S40.

I forgot about Buck not being able to show 4 digits. That is curious... and I wouldn't be surprised if Mike had (or even still has) no idea.

It was great for Triple to show up already. It was brutally set up for a loss, but it was still a strong playing.

I don't know how to feel about three straight SC2s that are all two-prizers and all have a moderate luxury car at the end. Quite a repeating pattern... it might end though as one was finally won.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I found the episode Scott was talking about. September 22, 2004, where one of the grocery items was Similasan Pink Eye Relief worth $9.95 (and it was not the item that needed the dollar). These are the only two instances of this happening in the game's history.

EDITED by Steve to fix product's name.

It would have been nice if they used the classic cue(s) during the entire showcase. And I've watched the first playing of Golden Road on YouTube; the Jaguar then was priced at a bit over $10K, which drew quite the reaction back in 1975.

Pass The Buck! One of my favorite games! And with three total picks! I was hoping for more suspense with more than one pick used, but the car was won. :)

Surprised to see Triple Play played (although the premiere week teaser video did spoil it). I thought the first car was gonna be the lower price, but the other two I thought were pretty easy.

I'm surprised that Pass the Buck has only had an item starting with $9 be the incorrect choice twice. I would've thought it happened at least a couple of more times.

I like that they're giving away luxury cars in the Showcases this week along with the classic clips and cues, but the way the Showcases are being set up is way too redundant for sure.

This was MaryLeticia's second appearance on the show; she played, and won, Cliff Hangers on 9/22/06 (interestingly, one day before the 10-year eligibility rule).

It seems appropriate somehow that the person who lost Triple Play ended up essentially winning Golden Road in the Showcase.

I'm sorry, but between the backdrops, the shiny prize stands, the sign, and the television, there were way too many light sources competing during 1 Right Price.

If she'd won Triple Play as well as SC#2, she would have won $110K. How often has that happened on a standard daytime show without GR or a DSW?
