They show the 3-Way $1 Tie on today's ABC World News Tonight.
Or course , the host incorrectly states it has never happened before on the show.

In addition to the dates already mentioned for three contestants getting $1.00 in the same Showcase Showdown, it also happened on January 21, 1993 and on November 21, 1997 (Fortune Hunter's debut episode). Like many of you, I am not surprised those articles get so much incorrect.
