Grocery Game: The new $20-22 range would have benefited Cassandra if she had picked one more tomato sauce. (She'd have had $21.93.) She'd have also won had she gone with the olives as her third pick and bought two ($15.96 plus two olives at $2.29 each).
You surely get nervous every time a contestant draws to within a few cents of the low end of the target range ($20), especially when you know buying even one of one the remaining items will put you over (i.e., automatic loss). At least you have a fighting chance with the new rules ... just got to pick the right item, or enough of the right item. Didn't happen today ... maybe next time.
On a side note and nothing to do with the game itself ... I don't know about you, but myself I'm not a fan of pepperoni pizza with olives (as the lone other topping). I'd go with onions and/or green pepper myself? What say you?
