Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park (and briefly of the Stone Temple Pilots), has reportedly committed suicide by hanging. He was 41.

RIP Chester Bennington.

John Heard, likely best known as Kevin McCallister's father in the Home Alone movies, was found dead in his hotel room; he was 72 and had apparently had surgery a few days before, so this could be a result of complications thereof:

Sad news. She voiced a ton of animated characters, among them Natasha and Magica de Spell on Duck Tales.

I've admired June for many years.  She had a recognizable voice yet was so flexible that she could give life to any character given to her.  She's right up there with the likes of Mel Blanc, Don Messick, and Daws Butler as one of the greatest voice actors of all time and was able to bless us with her talents even into her 90s.  We will miss you June.  Now Granny can be with Tweety and Sylvester again.

The actual retail price is...

It's telling that Mel Blanc considered himself the male Foray rather than the other way around.  Her impact on animation cannot be understated:  Granny, Rocky, Witch Hazel, Lucifer the cat, Natasha Fatale, Magica, Jokey Smurf, Grammi Gummi, Ma Beagle, Cindy Lou Who, and Karen's teacher (not to mention briefly Karen herself during at least Frosty's initial airing before they decided to redub the role for whatever reason) make for a very strong top tier of characters.  So long, fair lady, and you will assuredly not be forgotten.

 :-(

My guess is that Stephanie Courtney -- who had voiced the character of a young Granny in a recent Looney Tunes short (where Granny was reflecting on her life and when she was a young adult) -- will take over the role of Granny. (Courtney is best known as "Flo" on the Progressive Insurance commercials.)

I had no idea they still made Looney Tunes cartoons.  They seemed to be in perpetual reruns even back in 1980..

They made shorts for the Looney Tunes Show (a newer series with the characters in a sitcom premise) several years ago.

There's also a new series airing on Cartoon Network called "Wabbit" that follows the adventures of Bugs Bunny. Michigan J. Frog, one of the best classic WB characters, made a triumphant return at the end of one particular episode.

That's not meant out of disrespect, but a tribute as -- when she was introduced on each "Match Game" episode -- she seemed to roll her eyes in bewilderment.

RIP.
