And of course as the ill-fated chest-bursting Alien's initial victim in the series' first film, as well as in Spaceballs' terrific parody of the scene ("Oh no!!  Not again!!!")

This one is for the gamers out there.

Japanese video game and media company Bandai Namco Holdings announced that the Namco division's founder, Masaya Nakamura, passed away on January 22nd at the age of 91. No further details were released out of respect to Nakamura's family.

For non-gamers, Namco brought the world Pac-Man, among many other hit games.

The famous comedian/professor Corey Irwin (who made quite a few appearances in the 1980s on John Davidson's Hollywood Squares) has died at the age of 102.

From IMDb:

Retired Warner Bros. Cartoons executive Hal Geer died on Jan. 26. He was 100.

(I didn't see that on this thread, so sorry if I repeat)
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

Impressive longevity if so.  I recall seeing his name in the closing credits for the Warners' cartoon shows on network throughout a good portion of the 80s, so much credit to him from Generation X and Y for making sure the best of the Termite Terrace reached us each Saturday morning (even if the heavy editing seems to have started under his tenure).

The day of the Grammys starts off on a sad note, with the death of R&B/jazz/pop singer Al Jarreau, who was 76:

No quota exists for celebrity deaths, and I think you're definitely stretching it.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Isn't this thread's purpose to post random obituaries?  I mean, yeah, some of them are obscure but at least it keeps the thread going.
