Has there even been a Car Price in Line 'em Up to end in 00?
As far back as I can find , I've can't find any.

I would think it's rare for a car to have a price end with -00 in any game where contestants price the digits in the price of the car individually. I recall seeing cars with -00 price endings a few times in games where the car isn't priced and perhaps in Triple Play and That's Too Much, but not before in these types of games. I have a vague memory of seeing a Money Game playing where 00 was the last two digits in the 4-digit car price days, but even that I'm not really sure if I'm thinking correctly.

Nice to see Shell Game, but I felt it was odd for Drew to reveal whether or not the contestant won by lifting the shell without a chip. It would've been a pretty awkward ending if the ball had been under that shell.

I don't get it...
7851 was the last Shell lineup, on Cyber Monday. 6 weeks ago yesterday.

ME, Shell, Gas, CoG, C-O, A#
OWP, Shell, L7, Side, Bullseye, Line

-both lineups have Shell 2nd and a regular GP 5th
-both lineups have a 3P quickie 1st
-both lineups have a common car and a longer car
-both lineups have a quickie 4th

The creativity on lineups has really stagnated.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Just got around to watching this... Does anyone know why/when Drew stopped letting the contestant place the chips by the shell in Shell Game?  I know what's been going on for a while, but why?  It can't save that much time.

Why Drew is placing the chip instead of the contestant may have to do with worries over a potential accidental reveal of the ball position  (given how much cars in particular cost these days, not a cheap freebie anymore)...another reason could be that a contestant placing chips could interfere with Drew's mic signal

I think about this every time that they play Shell Game.  But I think that we're putting more thought into it than the show has.  I think Drew has just naturally made this shift in hosting style. It's kind of like how he doesn't have contestants move the dollar bill themselves anymore in Pass the Buck.  It just works more smoothly this way for Drew.
